A must-visit mountain in central Seoul, Inwangsan rises to about 338 meters. The hike is not too long and hard, but there are some steep rocky paths, so I would rate the difficulty as moderate. Most people can reach the top within an hour depending on the starting point.

๐Ÿ“Œ On the Way As you climb, you can see parts of the Seoul City Wall (Hanyangdoseong), Buddhist temples, and even shamanist shrines that make the hike culturally unique. The trail is well-maintained and marked, but be prepared for some stairs and stone steps.

๐Ÿ“Œ Views from the Summit From the top, the panoramic view is breathtaking. You can see Gyeongbokgung Palace, Blue House (Cheongwadae), Bukaksan, Namsan with N Seoul Tower, and the endless skyline of modern Seoul. On a clear day, the contrast between ancient palaces and skyscrapers is unforgettable.

๐ŸŒฟ Overall Inwangsan is the perfect hike if you want to experience both nature and history without leaving the city. The climb is short but rewarding, and the view from the summit is one of the best in Seoul. Highly recommended for travelers who want a quick escape from the...

Inwangsan Mountain stands at a height of 338.2m. The unique and colossal rock formations and the view of Seoul, Gyeongbokgun Palace, and Cheongwadae are only a few of the many charms of Inwangsan Mountain. Trails from Doneuimun Gate site (west gate of Seoul Fortress wall) to Changeuimun gate is on the grounds of Inwangsan Mountain. Many people enjoy hiking from the path that begins at the Sajik Tunnel, which leads to the peak of the mountain passing the fortress walls, then hike back down to Buam-dong. The Trail is around a 2 and half walk. From the Chaneuimun Gate to the peak is around a...

Had a fantastic experience night hiking to the peak. We walked along the Seoul City Wall for a good portion of the hike and these parts were well lit. The trail consists of wooden stairs were even and easy to climb, stone stairs that were less even but more than manageable, and some areas were steps were grooved into rock that wouldโ€™ve been somewhat treacherous without a source of light (a phoneโ€™s flashlight in our case). The views were stunning - seeing the sprawling city lit up from up high was one of the most memorable experiences weโ€™ve had on our...
