As other reviewers have observed, the cake was rock dry and the custard hard and gooey. Addressing it with the staff, they told me the cakes had been cut in the morning and left out on display. Of course they would be Superdry by 3 in the afternoon. The staff was so kind as to offer to cut new pieces of cake for me, which is the kind of great service that deserves at least one star on its own. The freshly cut pieces were not dry, but the cakes didn’t have much taste and were very compact. Other reviewers have expressed that Scoff offers the experience to try traditional English cakes the way our grandmothers used to bake. Fortunately, there is a new generation of grandmothers in Britain now.

I would recommend this amazing bakery but note if you have just met a friend (or gone for a coffee) and don’t really need a second one.. don’t come!! Even if they have empty seats - they have a none official drink policy - no signs -> if you have such a policy it can’t be imaginary and isn’t a good sign! Beyond that - I had walked some twenty mins to have a nice treat before leaving Korea so I decided that I would argue the case and ended up being allowed to eat in — who on a cold day wants to sit outside eating a cake?

Visited this spot for a little tea break - their variety is staggering and they definitely offer a lot of sweet treats. However, most - if not all - of their offerings are cold and tough (with it being winter) and staff do not offer to warm the treats up for you. Butter, cream, jam have to be purchased if you want them. The best option for me personally was taking home the single shortbread we bought to enjoy later. Drinks are alright and staff don't do much except to work...
