I went swimming twice at the municipal pool in Los Christianos and I loved it. the water was perfect temperature, desalted I think as in tap water here, not too chlorinated. the changing rooms are not for this century but okay. there are lockers outside, you can watch them from the pool, a few accept a one euro deposit for the key, some you can use with your own lock (requires a very thin U part). the key from the deposit ones doesn't have a hole so I couldn't attach it anywhere and take it with me in the water. single entry is 1.50, card only, had to write down my details for some reason but both times I got polite and friendly service. I am partly bald with very short hair, the lifeguard said I didn't need to wear the cap haha. I think you can rent the cap if you need to, I saw some foreigners with local Arona swimming club caps. I brought tinted goggles but the sun shines in and opposite of the direction of the swimming so they only helped while swimming backstroke (not very well, the sun is strong here). I went on Saturday and Friday around lunch. 2-3 people per lane on Saturday, I had the whole lane for myself on Friday (it's January so a low season). one more thing that would be better would be some benches to sit on or a grass for lounging, you can't access the podium either. it seems they are focused on the sport, well the beaches are not far. there is also a pool inside a big tent, not sure if it's available if you're not participating in some course. but swimming outdoors in nice weather in January is...
Read moreFaultless. Sign up with passport on first entry, English speaking gentlemen issued free membership number to be used each visit. $1.50 a swim! Lockers for gear that take a padlock. (Narrow buckle, so suitcase combination type lock) . There were lessons taking place in the 25m indoor pool and a masters session on the three far lanes for anyone wanting coaching (in Spanish) the three near lanes were slow , medium and fast .. there was a few people in each lane .. but as it’s a 50m pool lane swimming didn’t become an issue , the lanes are wide enough to overtake . It’s a competition pool , so 2m deep at each end. There is ledge all the way round at around 1m so the 2m depth isn’t an issue for a novice swimmer . There floats and pool buoys in big baskets at each end.. I’d taken my own huub big buoy but wouldn’t bother again and would use one of theirs free of charge . I swam in the slow lane at first having never used a 50m pool but switched to medium , I swim at 2.20 per 100m pace. Swimmer’s were using buoys, floats , front snorkels, fins and paddles . Male and female changing rooms with hot showers and private changing cubicles if that suits you. I’m guessing the lack of reviews is due to people not wanting the secret to get out...
Read moreLovely heated pool NOTE THIS GOOGLE LISTING HAS THE WRONG LOCATION The pool is actually on the opposite side of the dual carriageway. We spent ages driving around and then paid for an expensive car park as we couldn’t initially find it. There is plenty of parking right in front of the swimming pool. Please see a previous review for the winter opening times, which are correct. The ones on this listing or not. When you arrive, there is a tiny little office whereyou have to register your details and be put on the system to gain admission. It’s well worth it though if you are a...
