As someone who has vacationed along all the Mediterranean coasts, I first want to mention that swimming in the ocean offers a completely different experience - with high waves and strong tides. While Los Cristianos is a charming town in Tenerife, unfortunately the beach isn't as clean as it could be due to the nearby port. There's also a general odor present, albeit mild, which I'm comparing to other beaches I've visited. For example, Las Vistas Beach or El Camisón are much more enjoyable - they're wider, more beautiful, and relatively cleaner. At the end of the day, I don't think anyone wants to swim in a bay where large cruise ships and car ferries are constantly coming and going.
On the positive side, there are excellent beach volleyball courts available for those who want to play - they get wet from the waves which is great fun. Due to that water are...

There are beach volley areas that you can play. Showers and toilets are available at the entrances. There are many tour companies around offering activities like diving, jet skiing, and whale/dolphin-watching boat tours. There are lots of restaurants, but they’re all quite touristy, so don’t expect to find any local food — mostly pizza, burgers, steak, pasta, and seafood. It’s smaller compared to Playa de las Vistas, which is just a...
