Mercadona — Local services in Barcelona

Just encountered this today at a Mercadona store in barcelona.

A couple entered the store carrying an opened bottle of San Pellegrino — seen by the security guard, who said nothing.

After shopping and spending some money (saw the guy paying 50 EURO), they were accused at the exit of stealing the bottle. When they asked for the security footage to clear things up, staff refused.

When the man explained in English that he didn’t speak Spanish well, he was questioned about where he was from. He showed his passport, and the a woman (Mercadona worker) at the exit smirked and made racist jokes about his background. Funny thing was that she also had a colleague next to her, a black skinned guy who also laughed.... THE IRONY! (not in a racist way, im far from that)

If you want an authentic experience of true Spanish customer service, then and only then should you shop here. Besides Spain being the only country I have ever seen that allows stores to use industrial floor cleaners and forklifts during operating hours, the staff will cut in front of you in the checkout line, presumably because the tiny break they get is more important to them than your time as a customer; it's a 50/50 chance whether the cashier will actually greet you; more specifically, the woman in the meat/dairy section will push you out of the way to attend to whatever it is she needs to; they allow idiots with electric scooters and even bikes to bring them in and wheel them up and down the aisles. The only thing they do like a real supermarket is constantly rearrange things so that you get lost and have to spend more time...

Me puse en una caja que TODAVIA NO ESTABA ABIERTA Y SIN CAJERO/A y cuando la abren alguno de la cola de la otra caja me dice que me he colado. No era así porque tuve la intuición que iban a abrirla. Un tal XAVI que debe ser un jefecillo me dice que me he colado PORQUE LA GENTE LO DICE. No me deja explicarme bien y yo dejo todo en la caja y me voy. El tal XAVI me dice que no puedo irme, que tengo que acabar la compra...cosa que si uno quiere puede anular lo comprado. LO GRAVE ES QUE ESTE TAL XAVI ME DICE QUE NO ES LA PRIMERA VEZ QUE PASA Y QUE SON VARIAS Y QUE YO COMPRO HABITUALMENTE ALLÍ. Yo compro alguna vez al año en ese Mercadona y nunca he tenido ningún conflicto. ES GRAVE UNA ACUSACION COMO ESTA PORQUE ES FALSA!!! CIAO! MERCADONA! Yo suelo llevar mochila para llevar mis cosas como muchos hombres o mujeres. No llevo bolso porque eso si es de mujeres. ME PIDEN EN CAJA QUE ENSEÑE LA MOCHILA Y no tengo ningún problema en hacerlo, PERO ¿por que no piden también ver los bolsos de las señoras? Creo que a esto se llama INDISCRIMINACION. ADEMAS La ley dice que los cajeros y ningún empleado puede registrar el bolso o mochila , solo el vigilante de seguridad si tiene la certeza clara de que has delinquido. Si no lo tiene claro y te pide revisar tu bolso o mochila no tienes porque enseñarla y puedes llamar a la policía por detención ilegal. De hecho antes de saber estas normas el tal XAVI me pidió que le enseñara la mochila cuando iba a salir por salida sin compra. Podría haberle denunciado si lo...
