Mestiso — Local services in Zaragoza

I don't know if we came on a bad day, but based on our experience I wouldn't recommend this place. It seems badly organised to the point of affecting the enjoyment.

Service was slow and inattentive. 3 dishes we ordered were not available. It's not a big menu so this really reduces the options and we were told one by one that the dishes weren't available with the server coming back and forth. After a lot of waiting our mains came about 10 minutes apart.

All of these things would be fine if we were told on arrival, "we do not have X, Y or Z and we bring dishes as soon as they are ready". We had to keep changing what we wanted on the spot as the server waited. Why didn't the staff have info on what was available?

Staff were not totally unfriendly but based on the look and prices, service...

Nos creíamos que el sitio sería lo más y lo es por sus camareros por el ambiente. Como persona que estoy acostumbrado a comer en restaurantes y bares importantes por amor a la gastronomía me creía que su comida sería genial, no fue así ... Las tapas que pedimos no estaban mal aunque a una de ellas el chedar le robaba todo el sabor. Lo fuerte es que cuando trajo la camarera que es súper encantadora y con un buen servicio el carpaccio que pedimos no es lo que esperábamos. Tanto que mi pareja fue ha probarlo y dijo que no lo quería( ya me había comentado que vio como sacaba la carne del congelador y la cortaba sabemos que hay que tener mucho cuidado como se hace la carne cruda) tenía toda la pinta de haberla descongelado en microhondas.Yo comí un poco para saber qué algo no iba bien, aparte de que le ponen muchísimo setas de boletus y todos sabemos que es algo bastante fuerte sabor... Claro luego entendí que es mejor hacer eso para que no se vea la carne que había debajo .. Como estamos acostumbrados a comer carpaccio de buey, de presa de atún de almadraba...sabemos que tanta tanta cantidad de carne no te ponen si el producto es bueno. En fin, le dije a la camarera que me dieran sal porque algo pasaba al carpaccio. Lo dejamos casi entero tan solo los dos trocitos de haberlo probado. No nos cobraron el plato de carpaccio. Al día siguiente amanecí muy mal mi cuerpo tenía dolor ,vomitando con diarreas y fui al hospital me pusieron gotero y me dijeron que era un virus no sabían si era por el aire o es por algo que había comido. Solo puedo decir que sí no tomo medidas es porque seguro que el dueño no sabe cómo se hacen las cosas y no creo que sea agradable que le pase esto en su local. Espero que cambien la dinámica de la cocina y sepan hacer...

We visited this restaurant twice and had great service and great food. We went back for a 3rd visit BUT we did not stay as we were not allowed to sit where we had sat previously even though the restaurant was very quite and many tables were empty.
