Café Vordergasse — Restaurant in Schaffhausen

This is one of the harder reviews to write about. I have visited here many times and can honestly say the quality of food is fabulous. Always fresh. Honestly no disappointments ever. Saying that the service is hit and miss. Some of the staff are super friendly and others can actually be very rude. This is quite sad as Vordergasse are faultless on the quality of the food but the service let’s them down at times and then you can leave with a bittersweet taste. If pleasant service at all times is not a criteria then you will absolutely enjoy every single meal you have here , if your meal also revolves around polite service then that could be hit and miss. One day I had coffee here in the morning and the waiter was so rude to the person who was in my company that it had put them off visiting again in the near future , I then returned in the afternoon and was served by one of the friendliest waiters in a long time. I totally understand customers can be rude, however this particular customer politely asked why one of our parties drink did not arrive with everyone else’s. Instead of a polite reply they said look at the menu ‘it’s explained in there’. Looked for a vegan cafe and this one was recommended. Disappointed to find out only 1 cake was available. One of our group also a wheelchair user, only available toilets are up a spiral staircase, so no chance. Cafe could be a lot better, seems they have expanded but not updated any facilities for customer satisfaction. I recommend they add a downstairs toilet for disabled / baby changing. It is not safe to carry a baby up a spiral staircase. Can not recommend unfortunately with only 1 upstairs toilet for all...
