Although it's quite small, there are a lot of small stores, shops, diy shops, and stands that are very fun to shop and just walk around or take pictures in. The whole village is very aesthetic and is a great place to take pictures in. I went on a weekday, Wednesday, all the stores and stands were open. On top of that, it wasn't crowded or dirty. Make sure you do some research before you go because there are some very cute cafes in 5 minute walking distance around this village that are definitely worthy of a visit!!
One cafe I visited was Mac Mac: the lemon pound cake and cheese cake are both moist. Although it wasn't exceptional or AMAZING, it is definitely a great cafe to sit in after a long wake around the village to rest. The water melon juice is also very refreshing! The second floor is very pretty with a phonograph record shelf - great for pictures.
Two day 日日 pancakes (inside the village) is also a great stop...

We came here with Asia University bus and I think I visited here during the afternoon, so the temperature not so hot even though that was summertime. We strolled around for almost 2 hours, exploring the area. Went in and out of almost every kiosk (hehe) because every kiosk has its own unique product and is all handmade. Not to mention, every kiosk is very instagrammable. We spent almost 2 hours just taking pictures, every corner of this village is so aesthetic. I like the atmosphere and the vibe here. Oh, and I think every afternoon (around 3pm) there's a acoustic session. Make this village so peaceful. If you visit Taiwan and got oppotunity to stay couple day in taichung, you need...
Read moreIt’s a very hipster and beautiful place. Lotsa creative and designer goods. Of course it’s very Insta-worthy too. It’s like a bigger and more happening version of haji-lane in singapore. There’s very exquisite small bakery shops, dessert stores to handcrafted goods and designer bags/stationery etc. Definitely worth checking it out. But it can get pretty hot during summer. Make sure you have a car to chauffeur you around as it’s more convenient. Shen Ji Village is not far from one of the eating streets nearby where it offers all the typical night market food. Must go when you are...
