We're an Australian couple in our early 30s visiting Taiwan for the first time. We stayed in Taichung for one night en route from Alishan to Jiufen by car. I chose the hotel for its positive reviews, free bicycles, free parking and proximity to the Greenway which I thought we might enjoy. ||||Location: Unfortunately, we did not get to explore much of the city on our brief visit and it just ended up being a rest stop. However, the neighbourhood felt safe and I went out to get some delicious take-out dinner within walkable distance - there are a cluster of Taiwanese restaurants/stalls near the 7-11, just a block away. When we arrived, we had to find temporary street parking so that we could first visit reception and obtain their remote control access to the car park, a few minutes walk away from the hotel. We found this extra step slightly annoying. ||||Room: We paid TWD3420 for a superior quadruple room which included 2 double beds, a TV, tea/coffee/biscuits, mini-fridge, fast reliable WiFi, bathtub, shower and breakfast. It was the smallest room of our Taiwanese travels, but it was clean, modern and had a good wardrobe design by the door where we could store and keep our medium and small size luggage open. We were on the top floor which offered a nice view through the hotel, however there was not much to look at outside and we kept the blinds in the bathroom (the only windows) closed most of the time because they looked out onto other apartments. We enjoyed the bath tub and shower with good water pressure, the comfortable bedding and we did not hear our neighbours throughout the stay and got good sleep. The bathroom was a novelty - the room cordoned off by a glass wall with blinds that the person OUTSIDE of the bathroom could control (a great opportunity for embarrassment with cheeky children or family members). We didn't mind it having encountered it before in other trendy hotels on our travels.||||Facilities/Staff: Staff were very friendly, however check-in took about 10mins as there was only one staff member at reception and she was juggling another guest and phone calls at the same time. The breakfast staff were also really friendly and accommodating - letting us take our breakfast (a choice of set menus) in our room in the morning (she packed it up for me). The free laundry was wonderful and quick; all machines were available when I went to use them, they were easy to use and washing powder was supplied.||||Bottom Line: I would stay here again for a few nights but might look for something more spacious for...
Read moreWe recently had our first-ever stay at Green Hotel Taichung, and we were incredibly impressed! We booked the 4-person room, and it was absolutely fantastic. It was remarkably spacious, spotless, and had plenty of room to easily open and access two large suitcases simultaneously – a huge plus for travelers!
One of the standout features for us was the laundry facility. It was exceptionally clean and well-maintained. We especially appreciated that they provided everything we needed, including laundry soap, laundry nets, and even an ironing board. This made keeping our clothes fresh during our trip incredibly convenient.
We also loved the little touches that made our stay even more comfortable, like the fact that they offer a variety of pillows upon request, including options like tea leaf and latex. It's these thoughtful details that really make a difference.
The location of Green Hotel is truly unbeatable. It's so central and makes exploring Taichung a breeze. We were able to easily get to popular spots like Feng Chia Night Market and Miyahara. Yizhong Street Night Market and the Bishop area were just a short 5-minute walk away, which was incredibly convenient for grabbing a quick bite or doing some shopping.
Overall, our experience at Green Hotel Taichung was excellent. The spacious and clean room, the fantastic laundry facilities, the thoughtful amenities like pillow options, and the prime central location made for a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone...
Read moreWould have loved to give unqualified support to this hotel. Lovely staff who speak good English, nice rooms which are well maintained. Seems to be a reasonably new hotel.||My room was a good size and included a sofa. Good sized bathroom as well, including both a bathtub and a shower area.||Limited range of English language channels on the TV but adequate for casual use.||The flaws? Breakfast is limited to four pre-set choices. The breakfast is OK but you are restricted to what's on offer.||My biggest gripe was the short bed length. Even a bed wide enough to be a king-sized bed (possible even super king) was well under 2m long. For a tall person this was no good. Whoever purchased the beds should be fired immediately!||If bed length isn't an issue, then this is a nice place. No especially close to anything major, but kind of central for a lot of what the...
