MAASAI VILLAGE/KIKULETWA HOT SPRINGS TOUR: There is something really special about visiting a Maasai village with Alpha, who is a Maasai himself. Getting to hear his personal stories, meet people who are close to his heart, and learn about his culture directly from him was truly impactful and memorable. I absolutely loved every minute of the Maasai village visit -- I don't know if I've ever smiled that much in my life! Everyone was so warm and welcoming, and we got to interact with all different types of people in the village. We had tea with an elder, learned how to start a fire with the men, gawked over the cute babies and children with the women, and danced and jumped in traditional style altogether.
Because of Alpha, I felt a strong connection and admiration for the village and all of its people. It was truly an honor to be able to have such a warm and intimate experience, and anyone considering a Maasai village visit MUST go with Alpha, he's simply the best!
After our village visit, we took a short trip down the road to Kikuletwa Hotsprings. I couldn't believe how short of a drive it was from the Maasai village to the hotsprings! We arrived around lunchtime and everyone at the springs was out of the water eating. This gave us a good chance to get some swimming time in without anyone around. The scenery was absolutely DREAMY and the color of the water was so turquoise -- it was truly spectacular! The water was the perfect temperature, and surprisingly there was a little bit of a current that made swimming in one direction a bit of a workout! All in all, it was the perfect way to end the day with some swimming and relaxation in the most picturesque location.
Anyone interested in either a Maasai village visit or a trip to Kikuletwa Hotsprings (or any of the other various activities offered) MUST go with Alpha. Chatting with him and hearing about his life was one of the best parts of our trip, and I feel so lucky to have met him! Thank you for everything, Alpha! I hope to see you...
Read moreI wasnt ready for a summit climb but i didnt want to miss the opportunity of going up the Kilimanjaro. the day hike with Alpha turned out to be the perfect solution. It was so much fun all the way up and back down. Its actually not a difficult hike and I can see why its called the coca cola but i heard its starts getting more challenging from the ascent to the second base camp.
We were picked up in a mini van from our hotel at 06.30 and then drove to the gate. After getting a tour of the main office area of the national park which provides information on the mountain and its climbing history, we started our hike. Some people make it in 7 hours return others in 8 hours. During this hike you will pass different vegetations, you have chances of seeing the blue monkeys and some bird life. I was fortunate enough to see an animal i didnt know existed the hyrax. Saw the little fellow twice looking at me from a tree trunk. You also can visit the crater and the waterfall all this depending on your pace as the park closes at 18.00. I can totally recommend this...
Read moreAwesome experience with Oserok Trips. Alpha took great care of us from the first day at the airport. He chose Siya an incredible driver and guide for our 5-day safari in Northern Tanzania. Our cook Ahmad was great and his food delicious. Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngonro Ngonro Crater and Lake Manyara were all spectacular. We saw the Big Five and many other species. I then climbed Mount Kilimanjaro (Lemosho Route) and again Alpha chose a great crew. The two guides, Hanter and Sam, were very professional and knowledgeable. The chef Martini cooked delicious meal and Emmanuel managed his crew of porter with lots of care. Alpha took me to a Chaga coffee plantation near Moshi. Both the tour and the coffee were great. Last but not least, Alpha hired Sam to take me to Kikuletwa hot springs were the water is so blue and the grilled chicken delicious. All in all Oserok Trips rocks and Alpha is very professional. I highly recommend...
