Spent 5 weeks training at Titan. What a great experience! I was able to reach my fitness goals with the guidance & support of the Titan team.
I signed up for the weight loss program which included 3 PT sessions per week. Due to some unforeseen circumstances I had a change in PT trainers, however Dan worked with everyone to make sure I never missed a PT session. It was really nice to meet Dan another Canadian expat!
At first I had PT with Aof who was very experienced in weight lifting, everything from proper form to tempo was looked after. His calm & collected demeanour made me feel like I was in good hands. Next I trained with Leo who doesn’t spend any PT sessions in the weight room but will make you work harder then ever before. Leo set up his PT sessions in the fitness area behind the outdoor group training area, there you will spend the hour starting with warmup drills, targeted stretching for the muscles being worked that day, functional training, some sort of weight training (ie. back squats, deadlifts, bench press ect..), circuit training that will have you laying in a pool of sweat and finally post-workout stretching. All this happens in the span of one hour and there’s hardly any stopping! In the end I felt very fortunate to have trained with both Aof & Leo, but there’s just some undefinable quality about Leo that makes you not want to disappoint him, and so you push harder. In the end I would recommend you take the time to discuss your fitness goals in detail with Dan the client manager upon arrival to make sure you are paired up with the right coach.
The group classes is where new friendships are made with people from all corners of the world. Within a day or two you will have met friendly faces and soon after you’ll all be going together to Ali’s or Jom’s for dinner. I am certain the classes wouldn’t have been nearly as much fun without such a wonderful group of people around me.
The coaches are top notch in every class I took part in. Nana & Cam start the day off with cross training @9am, such a great way to begin you day with a good sweat session! Soon after Leo & Eng instruct the body 360 classes, you can certainly challenge yourself in this class. Some people opt to take both classes back-to-back, I didn’t do this often because I had an afternoon workout routine that needed whatever remaining energy I’d have left after one the morning class.
My afternoons were mostly spent on PT or weight room exercises followed by an hour on the elliptical machine, after lunch I would finish the day with spin class with Poom who was a fun & motivational instructor.
I did also have the privilege of doing a few PT sessions with Rorie who is a very uplifting coach to have in your corner, the guy is built like a tank and you can tell he takes on this stuff with complete commitment. Looking back I should have made more time to take Rorie’s Strength Training classes. Next time!
Food at healths kitchen was more then adequate. Never had a problem with food quality and the menu had plenty of healthy food options. Great service but they can get a little slammed with morning food orders at certain times of the day so it helps to pick non-busy hours to eat if you want quick food service. The kitchen would close at 5 so dinner had to be eaten elsewhere, but nobody seemed to have issue with that. It gave everyone an excuse to try many other restaurants a short walk away.
Accommodations were basic but not terrible. If you’re looking for an infinity pool your not going to find it at little hill hotel, but it has a clean pool & lounge area. I stayed in the superior room so I shouldn’t comment on the other rooms but my room was spacious & clean, the mattress was comfortable and the maid service was great. Staying at little hill also helps making new friends with other resident titans by the pool.
I certainly plan to visit again! I lost 11kg in 5 weeks and it wouldn’t be possible without all these great...
Read moreIt must have been amazing some years back. It’s not anymore. Poorly managed, incredible bad customer service . It has a tons of potential but, they seem to be in the business for getting your money now, not to have you rebook. Just a pity that they do not acknowledge the lack of performance from them right now and are more flexible with customers who are now having a bad experience due to ramp back after Covid.
It was a fun experience – I had a blast but would never book them again. It is very expensive in comparison to value and alternatives in the area. It’s incredibly inflexible and feels like a rip off. The people you meet during the camp are awesome, so that is what drove a lot of the fun. But you do get much much more for your dollars if you shop around.
Things to know before booking: • Compare Drop in costs across the Soi – this camp is very expensive • Compare hotels – this hotel is very very bad in quality – I could only last for 2 days. • You don’t get refunds for nothing – You sick a couple days- No refund (even during Covid so people train sick) • You pay for 28 meals (4 weeks program – weight loss) – but the kitchen is closed Sundays… you therefore don’t actually get 28 meals – but your problem • Kitchen is only open from 8-18:00 – really hard to get time to eat if you train a-lot since you can barely eat before workout - *at best you get your food by 8:30… class starts at 9:00 - last class ends at 18:00 • You pay for 5 days of gym – however its closed on Sundays • The floor in the Workout area is staining your shoes and clothes and no washing was able to get it off – bring only black workout clothes. Don’t forget gloves • You cannot use the body compensation scale outside of the two times you have in your package. Any other time they will charge you 1000 THB (40 USD) which I believe is crazy considering you get a meal for 120 THB everywhere. This should be free.
Training/trainer: A lot must have changed after covid – the trainings are limited to 4 classes a day (you can double in other gyms)– in which some classes are super fun. Leo and Eng who are doing the Body 360 are by far the best trainer couple on camp. The workout is amazing, fun and really a butt kicker. Kam and Nana (doing cross fit) are also super fun and both classes are the highlight of the camp.
Poom however who does the spinning, is not interested in teaching it seems. He never corrects, never comes prepared. I have heard good things about his as a PT though I was never able to-do the Beach training – it was cancelled every time when I signed up. Feedback from others was not the best. In fact, no one did the class twice. Probably for a reason.
Your personal trainer- they get assigned to you on the basis of nothing. I would have expected that Dan, the “customer relationship manager” who schedules them, would sit with you to understand what your experience level is, your goals etc and therefore assigns you a PT which is aligned with your experience and goals.
The outdoor parkour area that was used before is completely trashed – overgrown and equipment broken – so not well maintained unfortunately. I assume coz of covid.
-- It is for sure a fun thing to-do – some classes are amazing. The equipment however is super dated and in bad shape. i hope they buy new
The Customer Service Dan is the relationship manager. Probably single handedly the worse hire I have ever seen. When he walks into the community area, he never says hello to the group or anyone unless he has a personal preference for you. And those seem to be only male and ideally because they are booked with a different group like Ultimate fitness. There were a lot of issues brought to his attention from various people. Every person who brought up something to him and that was pretty much everyone who I trained with has a story to tell of how bad...
Read moreI had an amazing fitness journey during my 4 months at Titan. This is my first time trying a fitness holiday, and I suddenly found out that it is good for both physical and mental health, especially when you've had a lot of pressure from your work. I was glad that I picked Titan. Unfortunately, I have to leave, but I promised myself that I'd absolutely go back there as soon as possible.
My review
Classes: There are a variety of classes you can join, not just crossfit or hyrox. There are fun classes such as spinning class, military bootcamp, Buddha Run, and beach training, and they recently added Muay Thai class before I left. So I think this is worth the amount of money that you've paid.
Accommodation: The price is decent. I was staying in Little Hill, and this place looks so fresh and modern. Additionally, they have free wifi and a swimming pool. When you check in, they will offer you soap, shampoo, towel, hair dryer, electric kettle, and 3–4 bottles of water. They provide daily housekeeping and laundry services. The bed is so comfortable, and there is a small working space in a room, so you don't need to worry if you are working remotely.
Coaches: All the coaches are amazing, but Mirka is absolutely the goat!! I literally love all of her classes. Her classes are always tough, but I love them.
Facilities: Their facility is absolutely perfect. They offer a sauna, ice bath, sports massage, health kitchen, indoor gym, body scan, personal trainer, swimming pool, and a huge outdoor training space.
Food: The kitchen served a decent variety of healthy food, and it is so tasty. I highly recommend a red egg skillet.
Equipment: Bunch of new equipment before I left. Most of the equipment is well cleaned and maintained. I was like, I should've stayed there any longer.
Staff: Everyone is friendly and willing to help you. Obviously, when class is done, they will come to help you keep the equipment back in storage. Don't worry about the language barrier. The staff have good English communication skills, and it was fun talking to them.
Thank you for the amazing vibes...
