The location of this hotel / serviced apartment is excellent. Within walking distance to Robinson mall, also there's 7-11 nearby. The rooms that we got were clean with good sized bathrooms.||The only concern that I had during my stay was when out of curiosity, i did a "safety check" on all windows / balcony door, and found one balcony door lock was broken! So there we have a room only on level 2 (someone can easily climb and broke into our room), with broken door lock which upon closer inspection, the metal locking mechanism part seemed to gave out due to forced opening of the door.||||Called reception and kudos to the staff, we were moved up to level 6. Alas, when i checked our new room's windows and balcony doors, one sliding balcony door (supposed to be locked) was also malfunctioned and couldn't be locked! This time, the locking mechanism wasn't installed precisely so it doesn't work properly.||Advised the staff again who organised for a technician to come. He then informed us that the balcony door locking mechanism for all the rooms would need to be checked and probably updated, so it's up to management.||||Luckily we were on level 6 at that time so highly unlikely that someone would climb all the way up and greatly risk their life just to break into our room, so we sort of just let it go at that time.||||Breakfast in the little restaurant on ground floor was good! They basically have two breakfast options (no buffet), American (international) breakfast, and Japanese breakfast. I chose the American one and the omelette / sausages etc were very well made.||||Overall, i would actually give it a 4 out of 5 review, if not because of my concern about the balcony door lock. This hotel doesn't have a large yard in front of my original room on level 2, and i could see clearly that someone from outside could just climb over to the balcony of the neighbouring house, then climb over to my balcony! It had actually sent shivers down my spine when i saw the sign that the metal part used in the door locking mechanism broke probably due to...
Read moreWell equipped and nicely furnished apartments - everything you could need, the staff are very friendly and accommodating if they didn't know the answer to our question straight away they would find out. We like walking around exploring (first time in Thailand and our stay in Sriracha was the chill 6 nights after 6 nights in Bangkok) The Madera Residence to J-Park for example is a nice walk for us and you see so much more detail when you walk. ||||What I'd like to do is give three examples of where the staff impressed me - ||||1. Bug (who checked us in on the first day then had some rest days) spotted us walking beside a main road when driving past on his way to work - he stopped to make sure we weren't lost. ||||2. I have big hands/fat fingers and I don't handle fine china well so on the first day my breakfast coffee was in a less than ideal cup - so I found what I would describe as a medium glazed earthenware mug on the top of the coffee machine and enjoyed the second cup much more - The next morning it was quickly placed on the table we picked for breakfast. ||||3. On the last night of our stay we'd asked for recommendations for restaurants that served steak (I just said whilst I loved Thai food I fancied steak on my birthday) on returning the staff Bug, Anne and Por presented me with a birthday card and a slice of cake - it was a great end to the last day of our holiday - the steak had been good too.||||For me this typified the approach the staff of the Hotel - they were willing to help with advice/directions if asked - were really keen that you should enjoy your stay and they were passionate about their work and proud to be working in the Madera Residence and for us it's always the little things that make a great...
Read moreI booked 4 nights via Agoda and prepaid by card. When I saw the room I noticed that top and bottom sheets where 100% polyester. If you like plastic bedding, this is your best choice. I cannot understand why a 4 star hotel provides their customers with synthetic sheets that gives you a skin rash. I decided to take my loss and go to the nearby Seaview hotel that does have proper cotton sheets. I lost all my money to Agoda and Madera because I cannot get a refund. The receptionists at Madera were not understanding. I do feel cheated really. I chatted to a robot at agodo for 30 minutes and then gave up. I will no longer book hotels with agoda if I don't know the hotel personally. I think it is very risky to book multiple days in advance and realise the room has plastic sheets, perhaps bedbugs etc and is not to your liking. In that case your money is gone. I think that is a bad deal. I need to figure this out as everyhting these days is handled by Booking,...
