I really REALLY wanted to love it but… the massage hurt. My body was sore afterwards and the next day it ached so much I didn’t want to move.
First time in Thailand and of course we shouldn’t pass on the famous Thai massage. I was nearby and looking for a good massage place and encountered this parlor. The reviews were top-notch and I wanted to try the “real traditional Thai massage”.
Entering, awaits more than 10 mature women in white robes (like a doctor) sitting on the receiving couch. I went to the counter to ask for a massage. There are no other choices other than if you want a 60’ or 120’ mins. One reviewer here said 1 hour wasn’t enough so I opted for 2 hours. I paid 600 Baht upfront and was lead to the 1st floor massage room.
It had plenty of beds with curtains as partition. The place had a retro style but pretty clean. Compared to what I’m used to, the bed was just a normal bed with head pillow. No hole in bed to place the face when facing backwards. It felt like a hospital room.
I was given a set of pajama to change on and tea to drink before and after massage. While drinking, the masseuse placed the hot towels on my back and started the procedure already by grabbing my back hard. There were people before us and they were chattering so my masseuse asked if I wanted to move area. I gladly accepted her offer.
We went to the 2nd floor and the room was not prepped yet. They had to open the AC and lights. That didn’t bother me. Instead, I was thankful for their thoughtfulness. And so this time, the massage finally resumed.
Just when the masseuse started, I already felt the hard pressure on my shoulders. It was great at first. But as time passed by, she kept on concentrating on the same shoulders it hurt so bad. I was already wincing but I think she didn’t think of it much since she laughed it off. She continued with my back like pinching and twisting the muscles. That was really bad I wanted to cry.
Anyway, I didn’t make this review so people won’t come. I just want to inform people that “they should say in advance what kind of pressure they want”. Normally, the masseuse would ask but not here. Also, the reviews here seems to make of the pain as a good thing (this is what happened to me) but too much pain you wanna cry is not good at all. It won’t be relieved the day after (I’m telling you).
Good point is the masseuse did a good job stretching and cracking my back. That’s a good technique. I only had 100 Baht with me so I tipped her with that. She was waiting for me as I was changing so I thought it’s a must to tip. (Felt a bit pressured and pity too) Do as you will...

The location is conveniently located near MRT Sam Yot. We came after walking Wat Sathat. There are some roads to cross, but I felt it was alright. Walking in, you will see a big green sign, push the retro door to go inside.
My wife and I went for 1 and 1/2 hours, 450B each, total 900B. The massage lady brought us to the second floor. We used the toilet before our massage. The toilet was clean and well maintained, with working hose bidet, like most places in Bangkok. 👍🏽
The massage was damn good. From what I read, the ladies are experienced pros, so they know where to press, which are your problem areas. They will press hard, so if you have low pain tolerance, ask for gentle, softer. I walked a lot the previous day carrying a heavy bag, and the lady knew to press my calves and shoulders. I just had to lie there and endure for my own good! They did check periodically if I was ok, if it was too painful, but I was ok with it. The lady also stepped on me to press out my knots, but my wife did not get the stepping.
Aircon is good, bed and facilities are clean.
I would highly recommend you go if you love traditional Thai massage. If you have tried Thai massage, and are looking for something more authentic, I would recommend this place as well. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Will definitely return...

All of masseuses have more than 10 years professional experiences with traditional Thai massage.
The front image of massage shop reminds me of the 60s period. The facility is quite old but very clean and quiet. The air conditioning is in best quality. The background music is “Soontraporn” music, Thai oldies with smooth and sound theme, which is rare among Thai massage services.
The majority of customers are thai elderly people who keeps loyalty to this massage house for decades.
My friend recommended this massage house a long time ago. Since then I am aware that their masseuses have higher skills than other new emerging massage shop in Bangkok tourist traps in Patpong, Sukumvit, Pratunam, etc.
I have visited this massage house almost monthly and never upset with their massage skills, which relief stress and heal...
