This tour company in Dubai is an absolute nightmare! Stay as far away from them as possible, or you'll end up regretting it like we did.

We booked a balloon experience through GetYourGuide, paying over €500 for the both of us as a surprise birthday gift. Little did we know it would turn into a colossal disaster. A week before the tour, we payed the amount and checked with the company via WhatsApp for confirmation. Three days of silence later, they followed up by a measly message claiming they hadn't received our money. When we sent proof of payment, we practically begged them to confirm if the tour was still on. Their response? A simple "the tour will happen" after a day later.

The night before our flight, we still hadn't heard anything from them about our pick-up or about the flight details. Since this was a sunrise experience, pick-up should've been at 3:00 AM. At 10:00 PM the night before, we had to chase them down on WhatsApp for answers/information. And what did we get this time? A lousy message an hour later: "The flight tomorrow is cancelled due to weather conditions." No explanation, no apology, just a simple cancellation 4 hours before the tour. When we tried calling them for more information, they conveniently disappeared off the radar, leaving us hanging without a clue. Today, we are a whole week later, and we haven't heard anything from them.

Because of the last-minute cancellation, we immediately checked with other companies if they could help us out, and surprise, surprise – they all flew out that morning without a problem. It's crystal clear this company is run by a bunch of clueless, irresponsible people who have no business in the tourist industry, especially not at these prices. We've had better service at free activities/events.

Having gone through this experience and thoroughly examining their reviews (Tripadvisor, GetYourGuide,..) it's evident that this isn't an isolated occurrence. I'm relieved we chose GetYourGuide for our booking, as their refund policies saved us from losing our money. It's safe to assume that if you were to book a tour with them directly, they'd probably disappear without a trace, leaving you financially stranded with empty pockets.

Please do never book with this company. There are plenty of other options out there offering the same tours but with far superior reliability and service. FYI, we booked a new similar experience with Sindbad Gulf Balloons, which also is a company which can be booked via GetYourGuide or via their own website. This was an amazing experience and even €130 cheaper for the same package as with Dubai Ballooning.

Update: really bad experience with the flight video which I purchased as an add on. After months of following up with the agency and every time getting a “we are working on it”, I had to open a case with GetYourGuide and they refunded the amount. It is disappointing as I did not take any videos myself knowing that I would get the professionally edited one...
