You see, this restaurant is the nearest fast food joint to my place, so I've become a regular glutton for punishment. The food itself is decent, but it's overshadowed by the ongoing drama of dealing with their staff.
On my last visit, the self-ordering machine was broken, and the staff insisted I should order at the counter. Not a big deal, right? Well, not according to the employee who kept pestering me to hurry up, as if I was single-handedly responsible for their technological woes.
And oh, the elusive menu! They don't have it posted on the kiosk or even a printed version. So, trying to find what's available feels like searching for treasure, but instead, I found frustration.
To add insult to injury, two of the items I wanted weren't available. Yet, the cashier, with all his charm, rudely demanded that I "order faster." I mean, who needs customer service training when you can just snap at patrons, right?
But wait, there's more! The atmosphere deserves its own special mention. There's this one Pakistani customer with his kid who thinks it's perfectly fine to let the child stand with shoes on the counter where food is supposed to be. Seriously, I get it’s not the staff’s fault, but someone needs to put their foot down (and not with dirty shoes!) and maintain some basic hygiene standards. Talk about a sanitation nightmare!

Read moreI had a disappointing experience with KFC. I placed an order at 10:44 pm, and it wasn't delivered until 12:40 am. The ordeal began when the delivery was first assigned to a store in Sharjah. After 45 minutes, the delivery person transferred the order to a KFC in Abu Hail. This store took over an hour to finally deliver the food.
When I tried to voice my frustration to the call center, they shifted the blame onto the store, and the store refused to take responsibility as well. It's clear that no one was willing to own up to the mistakes made during this process.
I have a pregnant wife and a 6-year-old child at home, both of whom were waiting for their meal and eventually had to go to sleep hungry. Approximately 2/3 of the food was wasted. This experience wasted my time, money spent on calls to KFC, and left me feeling frustrated and sleep-deprived at 1 am.
