Santini's — Local services in Bolton

My partner rang me when I was away helping family and told me found an excellent Italian takeaway so we're we eager to try it when we came back. Ordered on Just eat. Reviewed order acceptance at 8pm. With 2 starving children, one or which was now falling asleep, I Called Santinis at 10.24pm and repeatedly gave our address and order time as they didn't seem to be able to locate it. They finally discovered it and claimed it was on its way .. We live 6 minutes away and reviewed our order at 10.40pm! 2 hours and 40 minutes is just not acceptable and on top of that, it was totally disappointing. My partner said it was nothing like last time and his arriabatta meatball dish was undercooked pasta and really salty. I don't eat tomato so I didn't try it. I had the marinated lamb, which wasn't all lamb, some of the lamb had been replaced with a minced meat skewer, which he wouldn't have ordered for me if he had known. The children shared that because they couldn't eat the brocolli pasta bake at all. The cheese was so stringy, and rubbery that it was literally like string and choking them. Again it was very salty. My children are not fussy eaters. They're home educated and are worldly food experienced, squid, olives, Currys, even eating things they have caught and prepped themselves. This morning my 7 year old has had cereal and crab for breakfast...so it's unusual for them to refuse to eat something completely. Really sorry but don't know where all the amazing reviews have come from. The food was delivered pretty quickly, the drinks were cold and the food was hot - this is the only reason I have given 2 stars overall rather than 1. I was fed up with the same old standard pizzas so thought I'd take a punt on this as it had some great reviews and the menu (and restaurant name) seemed more authentically Italian (plus the prices were slightly dearer than your standard takeaway). Sorry to say I was extremely disappointed. The pizza was a very basic crust, very generic-looking and tasted no better than any I have had from much cheaper places like Syd's, Pizza 2 go and Freddy's. I tried the spinach and mushroom "premium" starter (Spinaci E Funghi) hoping that this would be really tasty and restaurant-quality (it looked the part from first glance) but it just tasted really strange. There were barely any mushrooms in it and the cheese topping tasted plasticky and unlike any cheese I've ever had. I'm not a fussy eater and I tried to persevere but I just couldn't enjoy it at all. Restaurant quality take out 🤤

Ordered from Santini’s after being recommended by a few friends on different occasions and it did not disappoint! Since then we go here as our go to take out treat. We always get the Santani’s garlic bread and have ordered a variety of mains which have always been sooo good. Our fave is the family kebab. The staff are so lovely too which I think makes such a big difference. Gentleman on the phone is so polite and helpful, and the delivery men are always so happy and jovial. Always order through them as Justeat add extra charges to each meal.
