We've just got back from another awful shopping experience at Morrison's Hadleigh. We tried to get there before 10 am for opening time on Sunday morning in the hope that it would be slightly less busy. It's not that the store is any more popular than other local stores, its just that the aisles are narrow and that coupled with the fact that the aisles were still partially blocked by pallets and staff trying to replenish the shelves makes navigating your way around the store an absolute nightmare. Surely this should have been carried out by the night staff? This store always appears to be untidy, items on the shelves are a mess and difficult to find and consequently I have also found out of date coleslaw still being displayed. I've mentioned it to staff who assured me that it would be removed, but when leaving the store some 40 minutes later, it was still available for sale. Trip hazards also seem to be ignored and the customer service desk is more often as not unattended. When you do get someone to speak to at customer services, I found her to be rude and confrontational rather than helpful. They seem to have cut back on staff on every level and several of the checkouts are also self service, with one member of staff trying to sort out the continual ongoing stoppages, where an item won't register or some other sort of issue. We went to a till with a staff member who rang through our items but then failed to give us our £5 voucher which my wife then questioned and was then handed the voucher? If you are happy to tolerate this, good luck. The prices are not even competitive now with Lidl's & Aldi's locally. Personally, I would much rather drive to Rayleigh Weir and shop at Sainsbury's. If you think I have maybe been unfair with this review, please see the supporting pictures. I hope this helps and thanks for reading.
Update; On a rare reluctant return visit, Morrisons now have a large car wash occupying some car parking spaces, they didn't want it too close to the shop as the mist would blow in store from the jet washers and they also couldn't locate it too close to the retirement home for the elderly as there is a certain amount of noise/pollution etc. If you park further away from the shop, you have to walk through a mist of jet wash spray as the cars are being cleaned. They've also reintroduced the plant section in the car park along with a few click and collect spaces, previously allocated for disabled parking. I found the whole experience from car park to till to be about as poorly laid out as possible and totally remembered why I normally shop...
Read moreI only shop at Morrison's for additional specifics . I use Lidl and don't bother to get a receipt. I've been a couple of times to Morrison's after Lidl and because the lidle bag is heavy il on occasion use a trolley put thelidle bag in and purposely put my laptop on top of the ldle bag.
Sending a clear signal to all, as it's not zippable. If I purchase Morrison's stuff less than 10 items I put them at front and then checkout those items.
On several occasions a skinny black guy with a fluresent jacket and iPad seems to stalk me he pops up everywhere I am but I've ignored it up until then.
After checking out at self checkout he approaches me a points to my life bag and asks can I see the receipt for these items. I said I haven't got one ,he says you can get a receipt from lidle I said I know that but that's my choice that is all from Lidl. Bearing in mind I had my laptop case on top of the bag and his lack of customer service because basically he was in effect saying I stole.
He did say he had seen me around the shop so he would have also seen as well as all security cameras that I had covered my ldle bag at all times.
He clearly didnt have intellect or customer service. If his approach was professional and ehe at least introduced himself and said can I just clarify the contents of this bag I would have said sure no problem , but he didn't have tact or skill and in the end I told him this is ldle bag if you said you'd seen me shopping when why didn't he use his intellect or ask casually can I just check this I would have been ok but after I spelled it out to him i told him his got the wrong bloke and to go away.
The guy doesn't have good customer skills or theft detection skills picking single male on his own is dumb, doesn't he he know anyone can be a thief.
If his sheepishly following me again I will call the manager. He doesn't seem trained and customer service pretty poor considering I don't need to nick anything.
The guy just seemed to be pretty lame compared to rest of staff who who are on the ball as are the other security staff. He was after all alluding that I had committed theft and I don't take...
Read moreI have just been shopping at my local store at Hadleigh. I am involved in a youth groups ranging from ages 5years-18yrs. Today I saw they had selection boxes for £1 each. I put 8 cartons of 8 in my trolley, enough for 1 each of our members for our groups for Christmas. I checked the label and could not see a restriction. When I got to the till I was told they were restricted I explained what they were for and the youth group and the cashier and customers serviced did their best. I could have 10 and no more. The goods were taken away from me and anyone watching would have thought I had stolen them. I paid for my other goods and on my way out I spoke to a manager and stressed my disappointment and embarrassment and was told it was not explained who they were for???? I was offered to go back and get the selection boxes with 2 free boxes but I had ran out of time as I have one of the groups to run at 4pm, let alone the embarrassment of going back. Very disappointed , normally,...
