My wife and I attended this place for a friend's 40th birthday party. I had my doubts to be honest and didn't expect it to be any good. As soon as I arrived I was greeted by a noise like no other. Imagine 300 hen do's and loud cheesy music and you're almost there.
Our table was over in the corner near the toilets (wonderful) and thought that this was going to be awful however, once the food arrived, I was really surprised at just how nice it looked and tasted. It really was good quality and worth it. Despite eating in the middle of a night club, the food was really good and the staff were great.
The bar needed more staff to be honest and the coke mixer tasted like kitchen cleaner, I certainly did not taste any rum in my rum and cokes.
And then the drag queen... I'm not sure why men that throw on heels and a wig seem to think that they can now sing and insult people but he tried his best. He couldn't sing, it was that standard drag queen voice thing they do but the drunk hens seemed to like it.
The door staff kept coming in and scanning the area for trouble which gave me a preview of what a guerilla and a meerkat would look like if scientist ever crossed the two which made me laugh. They genuinely looked disappointed that nothing was going on!
Would I go back? Based on the food, yes. Based on the horrible drinks, no. Based on the atmosphere, yes if I I wanted to be surrounded by drunk women and be insulted by a man wearing heels and as ugly as bashed pyke wearing its Nans wig.
Still, the birthday girl really enjoyed herself and that is all that matters.
Top tip: Just get drunk. It takes...
Read moreWas looking forward to celebrating a friends special birthday here. She suggested La Quinta as heard good reviews, so we were all looking forward to it.
Have given 3 stars for the following reasons: Both the serving staff and bar staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. All four of us enjoyed all three courses. The atmosphere was fun and friendly.
However, we felt that 2 and a half hours of just serving food and eating was way too long. We had our food served from 8pm and entertainment started at around 10.20pm. Although we obviously got drinks from the bar during this time, it was a very long wait. Also as said it previous reviews, the drinks were very expensive.
The drag queen and strippers went on from 10.20pm to 12.40am. Way too long. Because it then just left 20 minutes for the DJ. By this time we had been sitting from 8pm till 12.40am and just wanted to get up and have a dance.
We were disappointed that we didn't feel as though we'd completed a night out, so we went on somewhere else afterwards for dancing.
I would possibly return to experience a tribute night, because the food was good and the staff...
Read moreI attended one of the tribute nights as part of a large hen party. There were other birthdays and hen parties there too. The venue was a perfect size and they did not try to over fill the space with more guests. The food (which we had pre-ordered) was very poor. I had prawn cocktail for starter, no effort had been made to tart this dish up. Literally just a small portion of prawn mayo in a bamboree. The main was better, I had the lamb and there was plenty of veg and gravy. The dolphinwa potatoes were dry and rubbery, a real let down. The desert was inedible, I have no idea how they made meringue so poor, but it was hard, dry and crusty. The only reason I'm giving 3 stars is because of the entertainment. The grease tribute act were awesome. They allowed everyone up on the dance floor whilst they performed, which meant you felt really part of it. They interacted with guests and made sure the hens or birthday girls had a good time. The disco after the show was brilliant too, the DJ played loads of old school garage and was keen to...
