Like wandering around the market. Being a Chelmsford "girl" I remember there's always been a market in Chelmsford. Theres a very nice Charity stall with a great choice of items including Christmas gifts and paraphernalia. There's also a really great fabric stall which is mainly upholstery and curtain fabrics with a wide choice of patterns and colours. Plenty of bargains to be had and a great variety of food, fruit& veg stalls. Worth a visit if you've not been yet. Went to the haberdashery stall today to buy zips and seeing thread. This is such a great stall as it has everything you could want for sewing and such a great choice. The fabric stall opposite sells some fantastic materials for upholstery, curtains, linings, dress materials and many other things too. It is about the only place in town where you can find all your sewing requisites. 8/11/22 in market again this morning. Nice bright day and stopped for a coffee after a wander in the market. So bright and cheery with all the Christmas decorations on display to buy. And the meat counter at the Park end of the Indoor Market had a huge selection of lovely meats on display. I didn't buy anything but was tempted by the home cooked ham on display and also some lamb shanks. Think I shall pay a visit to this stall when I next need to stock up my freezer. The fruit and veg stall had some lovely items on display too. Give it a whirl, you won't regret it 😉 Tuesday 2nd May 2023 At the market again today to buy some sewing requisites from the haberdashery stall. So many brightly coloured threads, ribbons, embroidery threads and much more. I bought some royal blue cotton and 3 needle threaders, which are very important tools for me when trying to thread cotton through the eye of a needle. My eyesight not as good as it once was ! Had look on the stalls selling Coronation paraphernalia and was amused by the face masks of Charles and Camilla. Loads of bunting and Union Jack hats on sale. Always enjoy browsing at...
Read moreChelmsford market seems to have been there for as long as I can remember. I have been there on and off a number of times over the years. When I was young it was always the magazine stall I headed to, to get copies of Games Master or what ever computer magazines they had! My shopping habits are fairly different these days, my visit generally takes me to the fruit and vegetable stall, cheese stall (get some broken biscuits perhaps while I am there), and the butchers. Occasionally, I'll also pop to the card stall.
Whilst there are some quirky type stalls the market is never as quirky as some you might go to, and there always seems to be a number of empty units and stalls. On the bright side, it always seems to be much cleaner and nicer to look at then I remember! (Loving some of...
