I ventured out on a bright saturday for three items that had been missing from my weekly shop. I spotted the Aldi and despite my initial fears, I thought 3 items wouldn't be too bad, oh how badly mistaken I was. I stepped inside the doors, wary of the drunk/dying man lying in the foyer begging for a few coins and surveyed the scene in front of me. What a sight, dozens of burly women in front of me scrabbling the shelves for any bargain they could muster. I struggled through them, to reach my first goal, carrots. Sadly no carrots were in sight, so I ventured further to look for the next item, inexplically the shelves had the most bizarre mix of items scattered about. Biscuits next to bleach, pet food and bread, the haphazard nature of the merchandising left me completely uncertain where to start my search for my next item. I spun round and spotted a member of staff, so I politely stopped and asked them and was waved off with a grunt and prod in the general direction of another part of the store. I endeavored forward to trip over dozens of wire baskets whose contents resemabled something that I would find in my teenage daughters bedroom. At this point I got first sight of the checkout to see the queues descending into the depths of the aisle beyond with a single cashier throwing items down the belt with all the dignity of a wild boar. I could stand it no longer, I ran from the shop hurdling the drunk/dying man in the process and hid in my car shaking with terror. After 30mins I recovered enough to drive to the nearest Tesco where I collected all the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe visited aldi coventry Gallagher retail park at 8am 13/11/23 We had a trolley full of shopping and weāre told to use the self checkouts by the managers and the lady will help. From previous experience we knew this would be a nightmare and it was. Every few items needed assistance The lady was so unhelpful and Rude A gentleman came and was visibly anxious about using the checkouts and was told itās easy donāt worry. But he struggled and she laughed at him and said itās not that hard and he walked out. I think she needs to be trained that some people have anxiety, autism etc. she should of been more helpful and understanding. The constant tills needing assistance was annoying and caused me stress this is why you need to go to a checkout. At the same supermarket on days you can be told canāt use self checkout with a trolley even if it only has few items in. The store has plenty off staff around the store Definitely needs a rethink there should be at least...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf I could give this store zero stars I would. Itās staff are rude in particular the assistant manager Freddie who claims to be the store manager. Absolutely no customer service skills whatsoever and definitely has no training in dealing with a difficult situation. Freddie seems to think itās ok to bully customers! One of the security guards who works in the store is aggressive, abusive and extremely lazy. Likes to make false accusations and embarrass Aldi customers, well thatās when he isnāt just standing leaning on the shelf by the tills instead of doing his job. As a third party contractor representing your store/company his behaviour is disgraceful but is condoned by your so called manager. Despite raising a complaint to your head office 3 months ago, would you believe it- no response despite being told I would receive a call back. Itās such a shame that your store has been let down by these two...
