Bought my son a present from there. Grow your own Venus Fly Trap. Bought it in February, for a birthday in March, but when we opened it the key ingredient (seeds) were not there. Couldn't find the receipt by now and I don't go into town very often, but happened to pop in one day (now April ) and explained what had happened and the young lady said if I had proof of purchase on my banking app and the box and contents were ok, I could return it. 2 weeks later I returned with the pdf of the sale and my box and the young lady was SO FRIENDLY and helpful. She checked a couple of other boxes to make sure the seeds were there. (They are smaller than poppy seeds) And after a friendly chat. I walked away with my new Venus Fly Trap and a smile on my face from such a positive encounter.

There really is something for everyone in this Waterstones with a huge range of books for all ages and interests, together with jigsaws, puzzles and toys etc It is well staffed so plenty of help and advice if needed. It has a huge, light and airy cafe on the first floor and I believe that the toilets are also on this floor. I visited on a Friday lunchtime and it was good to see the store busy with customers of all ages and the cafe was busy too. I had a very good cup of tea whilst I did a bit of people watching. Staff friendly and helpful as well as very knowledgeable. Books not in store usually obtained quickly. Excellent selection of maps including Ordnance Survey, motoring, travel etc. Good children's section ; toddlers to young adults.
