Easy to see why this is a Good Beer Guide CAMRA 2023 pub. Proper town centre two room pub with an older cliental opposite the station. Madge went for Acorn Barnsley bitter as the very short lived British August Summer ended in a downburst. Really love the traditional back lounge. Madge took a pint of Acorn Barnsley bittet. Lovely. Nice place to start or finish a Doncaster pub crawl.

Absolutely cracking boozer, great staff, really friendly and helpful to a visitor. Good atmosphere and friendly punters. Lovely beer (Stones bitter) at a decent price...I loved my visit here. Number one pub in Doncaster for me.

As it says, untouched for 80yrs +. Traditional old pub, blast from the past, gives you faith in life, i.e., some things should never change, particularly if you are a genuine pub goer. Beer well kept, served with a smile.

Absolutely fantastic little pub. The barmaid that was working when we were there was wonderful: very cheerful and polite and provided great service. The pub is quite small with a front bar and a lounge in the back. The pub was very clean and tidy. There was a fire in the lounge and what looked like an air conditioner as well for the summer months. The Guinness was excellent as was the Yorkshire Heart Quaffer and the Acorn Brewery's Barnsley Bitter. The gents in out the back through a small outdoor area which is mainly...

Traditional pub which has not changed much since I went in with my father in the 80s. He worked at British Rail, and this was the pub he would occasionally visit. When he was terminally ill, I would join him at The Plough. I revisited the pub with a friend for a Quiz night, and the atmosphere was fab. The Landlord and Landlady use to run the Corner Pin, another traditional Donny pub. Reasonable price drinks and food. Try...
