A piece of engineering marvel to have a working lifeboat situated on the end of the pier was just incredible with all the names of those that have served on the wall and a shop at the end. I enquired about one of their famous windbreaker jackets I see them wearing and of that was for sale but alas no, that’s just reserved for the crew! Amazing surprise to see this. Well worth the visit!

Established in 1804, it is one of the oldest lifeboat stations in the UK, with a long and storied history of maritime rescue. The station has been home to several lifeboats over the years, each playing a crucial role in numerous daring rescues.

The current lifeboat, the Tamar-class Lester, is equipped with the latest technology to tackle the challenging conditions of the North Sea. The station is manned by a team of dedicated volunteers who are on call 24/7, ready to respond to emergencies. These volunteers undergo rigorous training to ensure they can perform rescues efficiently and safely.

Cromer Lifeboat Station is housed in a modern facility that includes a boathouse and a visitor center. The visitor center provides educational exhibits about the RNLI's history, the lifeboat station's operations, and the heroic rescues carried out by its crews.

The station's most famous lifeboatman, Henry Blogg, served for over 53 years and became a national hero for his bravery. His legacy is celebrated in the nearby Henry Blogg Museum. Both my young children were very excited to see the boat that they ran ahead before me, I had to wait a while for a lot of people to come out. I was aware that they were on thier own so went in with the buggy, woman behind the shop shouted "excuse me" and the buggy, so I went back quickly and parked it in the shop like I had been asked to do on previous visits, I explained that I had to wait a while to get in and my children were alone. I ran up the stairs, untead of asking me politely while I was in the shop she waited until I was half way up the stairs and shouted "park your buggy outside please!" in a very rude manor , my children had been unsupervised for a few minutes by this point so I had to just go get them and bring them out as I felt very unwelcome. I returned to her moving my buggy without my permission and a very sturn look on her face, I was very annoyed to find some litter had also blown out of my buggy underbasket. I had never been asked to park it outside before and the shop had no customers. Chasing after two young children isn't easy when your pregnant and fight the crowds! Something my children love to visit but has now made me feel uneasy to visit for...
