KG's Fish and Chips — Local services in Great Britain

Not a great experience for me, I ordered food at 4.35pm and selected delivery between 5.30-6 pm. We only live around the corner and would have collected but I have a 2 month old who was napping and my partner wasn't home. I ordered it early so it would be here in time for him to come home as he had to be straight back out.

Called the chip shop to see if it was even out for delivery around 6pm and was told by the lady that they were very busy (which I can understand) and that it wouldn't be too long but they're delivery driver had alot of orders all over the place, but was assured it wouldn't be long.

Food arrived at 7pm which was to late as he had been home and left by this point. He's had to go with a sandwich instead. Food wasn't very warm by this point. Chips had sweated through the paper. Delivery driver didn't apologise for it being late or acknowledge anything just put her hand out for payment and said thank you, goodnight and enjoy.

Was looking forward to having food from yourselves as we've heard and seen loads of good things about it but this experience certainly has put a dampener on it.

Maybe we will try again at some point but this definitely doesn't reflect all the good reviews you have. Will change my review depending on how our food goes if and maybe next time.

We’’d heard a lot of good things about KG’s so we gave it a try.We had a takeaway on Friday(25/10/24) about 7pm.The shop was busy and we hadn’t pre-ordered.We waited about 20 minutes for fresh chips with Cod.The children and their friends had Sausages,Rissole and nuggets. The chips were fresh,crispy and light in the middle with a lovely colouring.,The cod was flaky and fell apart inside a light crispy batter, with the salt and vinegar on it was outstanding and left you wanting more after every mouthful.The kids gave all theirs a thumbs up,even our youngest (very fussy) who thought the gravy was the best he’d ever tasted. We tried a mushy peas and Irish curry side with our Fish (highly recommend the curry). The Staff were really attentive, friendly ,polite and made a fuss of the boys while we waited,even though it was quite busy. I have given 5/5 in all categories and would have given more if possible! First time ordering from KGs after searching reviews and I must say we weren’t disappointed! Ordered a large cod (was the size of a whale and I struggled to finish it all so definitely great value for money!), with chips, 2 jumbo sausages with chips, mushy peas, beans and curry sauce. My partner said the curry sauce was fantastic & dad enjoyed his dinner thoroughly! We opted for delivery as didn’t fancy facing the wind and rain (Storm Darragh is on the way!) and although it was about 10 minutes late, we completely understand as Fridays are usually busy for take always. Food arrived piping hot and all tasted wonderful!! The delivery driver was apologetic for the lateness and was very friendly and courteous.
