Rivergate Shopping Centre — Local services in Great Britain

Rivergate in Peterborough is a somewhat small, narrow, mini shopping centre. Most of the shops are either closed or just shut down now though. There is, however, a new gym that has recently opened, a hair salon run by two lovely ladies, a gamer/D 'n' D/ collectibles shop and a café, among a few others little shops. The highlight of Rivergate though, in my opinion, is Fratelli Tovola Calda! Part delicatessen, with fresh products ranging from smoked meats and various antipasti, to a whole plethora of pasta's, cakes, coffees and even cooking instruments. It also serves as a lovely cafe serving freshly cooked food in a great, relaxing environment. The staff are so friendly and accommodating too. Definitely worth a visit to Rivergate just for this...

I went to ASDA.

In many places MUCH more expensive than Tesco, definitely not cheap as their ads would suggest.

Full of unhygienic people coughing and spluttering everywhere, staff and customers alike, no covering up their mouth or using tissue/sleeve. (and I caught a really bad cold / genuinely believe in there due to this).

Lots of people standing in aisles yapping loudly in their mother tongues and reluctant to move out of the way when politely asked. (IE "excuse me please")

Finally got to a checkout, and the woman was THE most miserable person I have ever met. Rammed my shopping through with no consideration, did not crack a smile, and no please or thank you during payment.

What a HORRIBLE experience, I shall never shop in...

Shopping especially useful for the cost conscious, near the centre of Peterborough with all city centre in modest walking distance though there is need to use panda crossing at Bourge Boulevard to reach the city centre. Short term Car park with Cameras and no tickets needed ( 2hr limit normally, free to ASDA shoppers, if need longer in ASDA talk to Customer Service who will take your car number as charge of £70 for over stays!), ASDA, BHF (charity "superstore"), large "pound store", various specialist shops including: watch/clock shop, bag & case shop, green grocers, 2 eateries, variety of other shops e.g. oriental supermarket, Hair Stylist, etc.... very near by, also close to courts and river...
