Ordered £100+ worth of food, multiple times the order came with the wrong food, which then made it all mixed. After not getting my starters, I got my main first, to only realise the chicken wasn’t it, did not taste how it usually taste here & burnt.
Manager was not bothered, he was being extremely lazy & had a woman do all the work for him (Sexist?)
The woman, was a very outgoing person and did her best to go above & beyond not only for me but for other customers. (Kira).
I then received my wings finally after 2 hours (Which was a side/starter) & it had gone off BBQ sauce on it.
I raised this issue to the manager guy, put it behind me as I didn’t want to ruin my day & continued just drinking their lovely cocktails (They are AMAZING!).
I would love to come back here mostly for the cocktails 🍹, however I do NOT support company’s that think they’re high and mighty due to their position and get paid more, only to make their STAFF do most of the work for less pay.
This is my experience, feel free to go enjoy their drinks & food. Maybe this was a one off, however in my eyes discrimination does not meet my standards & will not be coming back here. My review is small compared to others, I’m very opened minded & will not support negative management places.
Sexism is also something I do & will not support.
Kira, was a great person with outstanding customer service & was going the extra mile for not only me, but 10’s of other customers making the drinks by herself, serving by herself, checking on people by herself whilst the manager (There was only 2 staff) was not bothered even though he’s paid more to do his job as manager, not acting like he’s being trained on his first day.
Chef was nice enough to finally realise his food wasn’t up to standards after a while, maybe he was just tired or something but I’m sure he’s a nice guy.
Maybe this was just a bad day altogether for the manager too, however this does not excuse the lack of work and effort and having to put the hard work into the other staff who work by themselves.

Read moreI ate at Turtle Bay during a lively Saturday night happy hour session and found the whole experience very enjoyable with some great food and cocktails. Highlights for me were the jerk sharing platter and Trini doubles for a starter and upside-down rum cake for dessert. Even thinking about these whilst writing this review is making me want to head back to the restaurant. For my main course I played it safe and chose the goat curry which was very good (and I'd be happy having it again) but not the best I've ever had. If you're tempted by the goat curry then definitely go for it, it's a delicious pot of curry, potatoes, and rice and peas.
Cocktails are 2-4-1 during the happy "hour" from 4-7pm so it can pay to get there early. The bar looked busy so I presume a lot of others had the same idea but as we were seated in the restaurant we had the benefit of table service and avoided any queues.
Staff were friendly and helpful throughout, being happy to talk through the menu and offer suggestions. As a fan of spicy food I was pleasantly surprised at the level of chilli used. I did find myself reaching for the chilli sauces on the table but even without those the dishes had a decent kick to them. If you're chilli-averse I would suggest speaking to your server to advise on safer dishes.
Despite my visit being a complementary review experience I felt the 5-star rating is very much deserved. Other than being physically transported to Jamaica there wasn't anything extra that could have made the meal any...
Read moreLast Friday evening, we had the absolute pleasure of dining at Turtle Bay Caribbean Restaurant in Peterborough, and what a fantastic experience it was! From the moment we stepped through the door, the warm, vibrant atmosphere wrapped around us like a cosy Caribbean hug—perfect for a cool January night.
The highlight of the evening, however, was undoubtedly Tami (or Tamsin), our delightful hostess. She was the epitome of attentiveness, ensuring that every aspect of our meal was perfect. From her welcoming smile to her excellent menu recommendations, she truly elevated the evening. Nothing was too much trouble for her, and her cheerful personality added an extra touch of joy to our night.
The food, as always, was bursting with flavour—each dish a celebration of authentic Caribbean cuisine. The Jerk Chicken was cooked to perfection, and the sweet plantain side was simply divine. The cocktails were equally spectacular, crafted with care and served with flair.
Tami checked in on us just the right amount, striking that perfect balance between attentiveness and allowing us to enjoy our evening. Her genuine passion for ensuring her guests had a wonderful time was clear, and it made all the difference.
Turtle Bay Peterborough is always a great choice, but this visit was made unforgettable by Tami’s excellent service. If you’re looking for fantastic food, a lively atmosphere, and outstanding hospitality, this is the place to be. We can’t wait to return—hopefully with Tami as our hostess again! Highly...
