The Little Anchor Fish and Chips — Local services in Great Britain

This recently refurbished fish and chip shop is really good. I'm sitting here with a big smile on my face. The cod was soft and juicy, the chips perfectly done with some soft and fluffy and some lovely and crispy. Very generous portions. Kids portion was big enough for an adult, adult's portion was nearly big enough for two. Staff were friendly and professional. Good prices too. The specials sounded nice too. Sold for take away in boxes, as is the trend.

They have tofu versions of fish cutlets too. If you still have the capacity of empathy in times like this. I mainly chose to get a take away because I have become rather dejected of late; I tire of cooking a wholesome and nutritious meal every day, the washing up sometimes seems like too great a task, that sort of thing. But I am perked right up after this delicious meal.

I read once that potatoes offer almost if not fully complete nutrition. Hard not to buy into that notion when the chips are this good. Only sorry I had to stop to save some...

One of the best fish n chip shops I’ve ever been to. Moved to the area recently and since then I’ve gone multiple times. Every time I’ve been the place has been spotlessly clean and the food has been great quality (I usually have a large cod or haddock with chips, the fish is always a great size and beautifully cooked and the chips are great too).

On top of that, the service is second to none. Both of the owners are genuinely lovely people and give off such a natural friendliness and they seem to really care about the food they produce. One time my housemate and I went not long before a close and were even given extras as the owner didn’t want to waste the food that had already been cooked.

I can’t recommend...

Chips tasted good and weren't greasy. Batter lovely and light. Didn't like the Yorkshire fishcake - indeterminate fish sandwiched between two whole slices ofspud in nice batter. Cod was quite small and chips had black bits and scraps.

There were three staff, I was the only customer (except for a couple of collections) but it took 15 mins before they started cooking mine. They need to sort out their system, have the basics cooked and ready. They need to be able to cook more than one order at a time.

Quite pricey, but the menu does look very good.
