I want to share my disgust at Forestside Shopping Centre for not helping me deal with their 'Smart Parking Ltd' parking charge. On 20/11/19 I arrived at Forestside at 12.21pm to do some shopping before my appointment with Boots Hearing Aid department at 2pm. I was then asked by Boots to stay in the shopping centre wearing hearing aids and come back after an hour to advise them if they were helpful or not. My sister met me and we went into several shops and then went back to boots. When my appointment was over, we went for coffee and I then helped my sister, who is disabled carrying her shopping. By the time we left Forestside it was 17.07pm. I received a parking fine this morning in the post for over staying my welcome in Forestside. I had just spent £2660 on new hearing aids and money in M&S, Next and Superdrug. So, it looks and certainly feels like I am being penalised for being a customer, a good customer of the shops in Forestside. I called today to speak to management but all I was told was to appeal through their 'Smart Parking' company. No members of management were available to help. So, having been a regular customer for many years, if I do not hear from them, I am going to cancel my hearing aids and never set foot in there again. I feel sure no one will care and Boots will get over it but I am disgusted that people should be treated in...

Other shops include Argos, Next, New Look, H&M, Clarkes, Carphone Warehouse and Boots. There is an excellent chemist and perfume shop along with a wide variety of other stores. There are a very large number of free parking spaces which includes quite a few disabled and parent spaces. Excellent bathroom facilities are on site and there is lift access for wheelchairs and prams. This place is very popular and is incredibly busy in the run up to Christmas. Read moreWent Christmas shopping there. Leisurely browsed and spent (a lot of) money in shops. Bought lunch and coffee, enjoying a rare retail experience for me and my sister. It was a lovely relaxing shopping experience UNTIL we got the £60 parking ticket afterwards for staying longer than 4 hours. We don't go shopping much so were enjoying the experience and weren't aware of the time limits. I suppose any time we've gone before, we've been in and out in a couple of hours. But this was Christmas shopping and supposed to be leisurely and fun. I realise, and fully acknowledge, there may have been signs about the parking duration that we did not see, but to be charged £60 for spending 'Christmas present' money in that mall and spending money with its cafes, made us rethink our shopping options for the future. I have learned the same rules will soon apply to Bloomfields. And ee wonder why online shopping is the preferred, and most cost effective, choice! I'm disappointed, but know where my money will be spent...
