Came here to give the kids a bit of fun after the Christmas period. I had brought my daughter (1yr) from England and my nephew (9yr old) to play. They hadn't seen each other for 6 months. My nephew was playing quietly with her in the ball pit in the smaller kids area not causing any disruption to anyone else. I was supervising them both. Then we were told my nephew had to leave and play over in the bigger kids area by himself, as he was too old to be in the ball pit with her. I explained the situation, and said he didn't want to play by himself and they told me it was policy- no over 4s in that area despite there being adult supervision.
We were only there 10 minutes when this happened, and so because we couldn't spend the time there together we decided to leave. I asked for a refund, which was denied. They said they couldn't give refunds and I was to take it up with 'head office'. They didn't even offer a free entry for next time when my nephew could come with his other friends.
I have to say this will be the last time I will come back to Ally cats. The customer service was appalling, and the fact my nephew was looking forward to getting out and playing with his little cousin made it all the more worse to stomach.
I pride myself on having great respect for any establishment's policies but on this occasion I would have liked some more cooperation and a bit more grace and understanding on the manager's part. The staff were also quite rude in telling us to vacate this area. Additionally, instead of worrying about small children/families playing together I would have been concerned about the number of people allowed into such a confined space for one session. We could barely move.
Bottom line- managers today are not allowed any descretion of their own, but refer everyone to the 'terms and conditions' when booking. Sorry i did not read these T&Cs, but i doubt any full time parent has the opportunity to do this upon booking this type of outing. It was our first time here and im sorry to say we won't be back and will be telling friends of our negative...
Read moreArcade area is a bit run down in some places with a few machines out of order or at the end of there lifespans. There are some amazing amusements that are literally dazzling with hi LEDs pulling you into spend your coins. The ratio of wins and tokens is fair and I've seen plenty of people patiently waiting for 500 tokens jackpot to be paid out in a never ending paper trail. The options of trade in prizes are varied from seaside town sweets and souvenirs to argos quality items including electronic appliances. The staff are very patient while you or kids deliberate over how to spend your hard won tokens and will show you variances of colours and types of prizes you could trade in for. The mini golf is great fun and at all levels of difficulty brilliant for some light hearted competition or a relaxing round whilst having a catch up in the outdoors. The alleycats area is very well kept and the staff are very intuitive to help out wherever they can to ensure your family experience is the best it can be. Bowling is great fun and reasonably priced with a juke box not too loud but enough to create a nice atmosphere even if you are getting a lot of gutter balls. The pool and snooker area is upstairs with the requirements of deposits for the cue but it had it's own CCTV and jukebox so you can have a session in peace from the bright lights...
Read moreSo my boyfriend, his friends and I went bowling (which was good) BUT then we ordered food, first I got nachos which were okay but the salsa was like half full. Then I got a pepperoni pizza which was like CARDBOARD! I had thought maybe it wasn’t 12 inches so friend 1 went to say abt it (just to check incase I was wrong), when the girl had came over she was cheeky and had a slight attitude so it wasn’t great for £9.25. Friend 2 had ordered a burger a few minutes before my boyfriend and I, and didn’t receive it for roughly 20 minutes which is a little unacceptable when my boyfriend and I had already received and ate half of our food (keep in mind we were bowling at the same time so we were taking breaks whilst eating). they did compensate by giving a free dip to him which was nice however Friend 1 had gotten chicken goujons with a half dip and had to ask for more. Finally friend 1 had asked for general tap water which was warm and had a weird taste to it. For it being a warm day they should at least offer some ice with it. One thing I do recommend getting (for those who drink) is the passion fruit frozen martini cuz those are lovely.
Over all food was DISAPPOINTING! Just get a McDonald’s it’s a 2 minute walk from there and better...
