The Famous Wooden Hut Fish Shop — Local services in Leeds

Been working ( fitting a new kitchen) just up the road from here this week and having discovered them on Wednesday i have been in for lunch 3 days on the trot. Best fish and chips I've ever had, without a doubt. The chips are fluffy inside with a crispy coating and the fish is PERFECT, really juicy and fresh with light and crispy batter, not swimming in grease, nothing has been re-fried and the curry sauce was gorgeous, plus they let YOU put salt and vinegar on instead of the miserly sprinkle you usually get put on reluctantly by staff in an effort to save money. Add to that absolutely great service from lovely, friendly people. I can't recommend them highly enough. I would never have considered F & C two days in a row and yet I would honestly have gone here everyday this week if I'd have discovered them on Monday. No idea what they’re supposedly famous for, just an average fish and chip shop a good 10 -15 minute walk out of Otley centre up the hill near the secondary school. Convenient if you’re a student at the school I suppose, but too far out of the town centre to ever be a viable option for shoppers or locals on the south of the river. There’s at least 2 or 3 other better fish and chip shops in the town centre being served out of something resembling a shop rather than a makeshift portakabin.
