The pharmacists here have been great throughout the pandemic: kind, professional. But if like me, you have several complex conditions and a lot of medication, I would highly recommend checking your medication bag before leaving the pharmacy and asking for paper proof for any medication missing. On my last prescription, I actually opened my medication bag and found one medication was missing. I pointed this out to the pharmacist, who said it was not released by my GP. I showed them the approval note from my online patient portal and insisted this has never happened and the medication should be there. They told me they will contact the surgery on my behalf, but the GP was understandably reluctant to reissue medication they had already issued. However, it seems that despite me telling them the medication was not in the bag, the pharmacy listed the medication as released to me. This then took many and long conversations with the pharmacy and the GP and I still did not get the medication. So do ask for paper proof for anything. I did not do this because I was mindful of the long queue behind me, but this cost me two months worth of medication I will have to get in private and a LOT of time and effort. There should be a process in place for the pharmacists to clearly indicate if you took or not...
Read moreThe pharmacist was very nice and professional but I still had to wait 40 minutes for a prescription even when the shop was empty. All the other staff members in the store were appalling. Honestly some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced. The girl behind the counter was sulking and huffing like a bored teenager and was making every effort to let everyone know she didn't want to be there. I then spoke to someone on the phone today for a medication emergency and he was even worse and seemed to be another grumpy, huffy teenager. He would not let me finish explaining the issue and instead constantly interrupted me with patronising explanations to what he wrongly assumed was the problem. When I asked him to let me finish he told me "well maybe you should calm down first". He then continued to interrupt every sentence and telling me to calm down, even after I said that was incredibly insulting and when I told him he was being incredibly unprofessional he told me "yeah well you need to calm down". I had to hang up the phone in the end because I could not get a word in. I don't think I've ever come across a pharmacist that rude and I've come across some...
Read moreThis Boots is poorly stocked with very little choice of brands. It’s too small to actually have the variety of things needed. Several times I’ve had to wait 15 mins + to speak to the pharmacist and then wait 10 + more mins for the prescription. I’m here in a queue of people waiting to get prescriptions and they’re now writing people’s mobile phone numbers down and saying they’ll get a text message when their prescription will be ready. I’ve been in this tiny store for 30 now and there is one chair… I won’t have my prescriptions sent here again and will have to order anything in actually need from Boots online as they rarely have what I’m looking for. Very disappointing as a...
