Nice little coffee shop that also serves great brunch/lunch. The coffee is exceptional compared to most places. Draws a mix of clientele and not just coffee snobs. They also display and sell what I assume to be local artwork. Order at the till but at least once servers have gone out of their way to take a table order. Usually friendly service but has been let down once or twice by uncommunicative staff and unusually slow V60. It’s also rather small and tables fill up quickly. Unsurprisingly it often suffers from the usual plague of sole customers or laptop users nursing one drink for an hour+ while hogging tables with multiple seats during the busiest part of the day. Many times I’ve witnessed couples and small groups turn around and walk out because of this, and almost done so myself - it’s something staff should probably look to nip by intervening where necessary. If I was the owner I’d be a little concerned with the needlessly lost immediate and potentially...
Read moreLovely cafe with a chill vibe and good coffee. I enjoyed my cortado, and the space itself is charming, though the entrance is quite tight and a little awkward to navigate if there are multiple people trying to order.
One thing to note: there’s a policy allowing only 1 hour of laptop use on weekdays, which is posted at the counter and was also reiterated by staff when my drink was brought over. While I completely understand the reasoning behind this rule, I was surprised by it, as it hadn’t been mentioned in any of the reviews I read beforehand.
Unfortunately, when my hour was up, the cafe was mostly empty. I would have happily stayed longer, ordered more, and enjoyed the space—but instead, I went elsewhere. Just something to keep in mind if you’re planning to get some work done or...
Read moreI was a bit disappointed with my visit to The Coffee Circus. The black Americano I ordered was not properly filled ( the cup was at least a full QUARTER of the way down and so I felt like I was being ' short-cupped', and this is not acceptable for the princely sum of £3 ! ) although it tasted fine . Also the cakes and savouries did not show the prices at the COUNTER ( I am always wary of places where the prices are not displayed ! ) and the Victoria Slice, also costing £ 3, was again a bit on the expensive side, although the taste was indeed good ! Moreover, I feel that the place could do with a bit of a makeover as the arty style is starting to look a...
