Cass Art — Local services in London

Former semi frequent visitor to the shop as I lived in the area, I never had any issues. I recently visited and it was sad to see that I was being 'followed' around the shop.

Upon entry I greeted the staff and was asked if I needed any assistance. I started browsing and when I look up, there is a member of staff near me to clearly covertly 'checking on me'. This happened multiple times. I felt quite disrespected. I was dressed semi formally and would describe myself as quite a regular guy, I have never shoplifted in my life and I don't appreciate being treated as though I have!

Side note, the older brunette lady working the till was absolutely fantastic, the dark haired male Aussie worker not so much.

It is a shame as I would have previously recommended the shop. They have a great selection of items at fair prices, the last visit left...

Absolutely unprofessional and very unfriendly staff. We were buying dry pastels which cost each small one £5 and there were 8 in a box. The boy on the till was entering every pastel manually in the computer which took a lot of time. Now, I asked to pack the pastels as if I take them home in this box where they dangle freely (box not to size), I will bring home a box of coloured crumbs. The boy was very unfriendly and unprofessional as well, as he could not pack the pastels and finally told me: do it yourself. This shop charges a lot for materials but does not provide basic service. This art shop has a wide range of art materials and paints. From basic water colours and acrylics to the much more expensive oil paints that can costs under a hundred pounds a tube. They have blank canvas and plenty of art projects. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The manager was very nice she showed me quite a few different colours and I took photos to make a better decisions after I thought about what my needs are for my own project.
