I visited The Blue Post on the 30th September 2020 at 18:15 with a friend. I visited this pub many times before as I worked for Le Caprice right opposite for over 13 years. On arrival, the waiter advised us we only had 45 minutes until the reservation arrived, which was fine as we only wanted a glass of wine. We ordered two glasses of wine with the waiter and waited for it to arrive. Few minutes after ordering, the same waiter comes over and asks for payment, this is before the drinks have even been prepared. I nicely questioned where my drinks were, and asked for the payment to be made while the drinks were served as it seems odd to pay for something before receiving it especially considering service charge was added to the bill. The waiter told me this was a new Covid rule, and this was the way the pub operates now. I politely asked to talk to the manager, as I visited this venue many times before and the whole situation was in my view unprofessional and did not make much sense. Bearing in mind the drinks still haven’t been prepared by now, the manager comes, dryly admit:”what is the problem?!” I explained that I would like to see my drinks before paying for them or the service received, and he told me:”this is my house, and those are my rules. If you are not happy you can leave, you must pay now” After being in shock for a few seconds, due to the attitude this person was giving me I accepted to pay but asked for his name so that I could write a review about the service received. After a few seconds of trying to remember his name, the word “John” came out of his mouth, followed by:”I will not serve you, is best if you leave now”. We left the Blue Post with very sad memories but saving almost £20 . Went to The Clarence pub where we were treated super friendly and professionally by the staff , and paid for our drinks only after receiving it . Happy days . It took me a good two weeks to come to terms with the shock of receive such unprofessional, rude and aggressive service by the so called manager of the venue I have known for many years. I came to understand that in such trying times only people and venues that deserve our money should be frequented, and I hope this review will make the management of The Blue Post aware of the awful experience my friend and myself had and this venue. I work in the industry for almost twenty years and I want to give this pub the benefit of the doubt, but I will not accept to be spoken like that ever again, and I think everyone should be aware of...

I would advise people to eat elsewhere if they are looking for a decent amount of food at a good quality and price.

The visit today was mostly paid for as a gift on Christmas, so I'm not overly upset, but if I were to come here on my own regard I would be incredibly disappointed and upset with the portion size and quality compared to the price.

Before I talk about the food, I shall make you wait as you read this paragraph, like the 45 minutues that we were sat waiting for the food pictured in this review. What makes the wait most confusing and frustrating was that there were only 4 tables in the resturant, including us, and only 2 had food.

Also, all the tables had not been cleaned that we were looking to sit at, sticky to the touch. I would also expect a place like such to have decent heating, or be warm at the least - It was very cold sitting inside.

The food tastes lovely and looks stunning, but the amout that was paid does not justify the amount we had recieved (as the main option). The "seasoned chips" had no seasoning and were half-cold on arrival, the amount of toppings in the Beyond Meat Burger Sliders were half of what you would expect and a third of an actual Beyond Meat patty, and the Pan Fried Prawns & Chorizo had a single prawn and two pieces of chorizo the size of your thumb's nail. Finally, the Hummous & Flatbread was very disappointing; the flatbread seemed so cheap and it was like the hummous was store-brought and freezing cold.

As an additional note, why on earth do you have to essentially pay for a whole drink if you wish to have a mixer with some spirits? I'm only needing a 'splash' of coke, as you would say in...

Unpleasant experience. 👎 Went there after work to enjoy a beer with my colleagues. Arrived and have been served about 22:40. We seated at a table outside. Approximately 5 min later, we were basically "kicked out" by a waiter in the most unprofessional way I've ever seen. Instead of asking politely that she has to remove inside the table we were seated and giving to us at least 5 more minutes, she's been very rude, arrogant and disrespectful to us. She started raising her voice: " I NEED TO REMOVE the table NOW, because there are just two of us to close up!". We have tried to explain in a polite manner that we will quickly have the beer and we will be gone by 23:00. We even purposed to bring it in once finished the drink, but we couldn't arrive to any compromise. Moreover, after bringing the table in, she came back for the chairs and was waiting for me to stand up. Then, she started recording our conversation on her phone without making me aware of it. I couldn't find out what her name was (even tried twice), because she didn't disclose it. Is the lady with short, curly hair, coloured in black and green. Absolutely inappropriate behaviour and zero customer...

Nice pub with ample sitting/standing spaces and friendly staff but we tested some of the finger food in the hopes of this becoming our 'local' for company drinks and were very disappointed. Wings were nice, served hot, but lacking in sauce on the spicy/Nashville hot version (lots of sauce on the Korean BBQ). Calamari was limp/cold/chewy and smothered in a sweet sauce that should have been on the side. Cod goujons were tasty and also hot. Sickly sweet sauce on the sausages. Chips were cold. Standard Greene King menu which I've had elsewhere with much better results, so all in all quite disappointing. Mentioned all of this to the staff member who cleared the table but he wasn't overly interested.

This is a nice Greene King pub just off Piccadilly near The Ritz. They had six cask beers so I opted for a rather nice London Glory at £6.40 (4.1% abv). It is quite large, bright and they have exterior seating. I was here at 3.30pm on a Tuesday and it was quite busy, however the service was very good. They do serve food and a nice touch is the free, self service, iced water at the bar. In addition to the usual sports they also show NFL on Sundays. Spirits were expensive e.g. single Buffalo Trace at £8.40 but you can double up for an extra £3, making it more reasonable. In summary, a very nice pub worth a visit.
