The definite advantage of this station is the excellent frequency of trains to London termini. On top of that, step-free access and toilets (now under refurbishment) are very adequate. However, the station layout is incredibly confusing with two main front ticket lines and the convoluted entrance to the DLR – which takes getting used to. I really detest that the exit onto Conington Road is disused (although potentially set to be redeveloped) which makes getting north of the station a hassle, and that there are ultimately not good enough subways to get out from Platform 4 smoothly. Let me not venture into the competence and knowledgeability of station staff, as it also is wanting of improvement. I really hope to see Southeastern, Network Rail and Lewisham LBC fix the pain points of this station in the coming years and put all parts of it...
Read moreBit of a complex junction station that is served by lots of SouthEastern trains going to various destinations around South East London and beyond. Lifts provide step free access to all platforms which is nice and the DLR heading toward the Docklands, Stratford and Bank stops right below the station. Ticket barriers are in use at this station, though I'm saying this as if people in this area actually use them.

Read moreThe mainline station here has a piano which seems to attract some excellent entertaining pianists which turns a boring wait for a train into a free concert.
There is also a fantastic little free library here with books and magazines for adults and children, fiction and non fiction. The library is neat and tidy.
