Really got lucky with an absolute beautiful day for a bike tour. It was nice to be riding around the city. That said, the choices our guide made makes me not want to whole heartedly recommend. Her stories were awful and poorly told. I wasn’t sure if she was talking about a banker or bunker at one point. At another, she told some random ghost story about a headless woman in a red dress. But then she said beware of red headed women? I thought she was headless? Nothing she said was interesting. She spoke in German w the German couple for much of the day though this was quite specifically an English tour. Her cycling decisions were also frustrating, one time circling in traffic at a light, riding on a congested sidewalk rather than the bike path because she was “bored”. We actually swarmed a blind man on all sides and I felt absolutely terrible about it. We saw guards heading to Buckingham palace for the changing of the guard and we saw horses at the end, but she entirely skipped over the actual changing of the guard at Buckingham palace. To end the tour, after she had forgotten a good many things, she made a point of requesting reviews, especially on Google. So I felt like I should provide her w a review. Steer clear of Brigid. She’s uninteresting, unpleasant, and a bit dangerous. Maybe she was having a bad day, because all she conveyed was that she was miserable leading this tour and bored by it. Perhaps they have a better guide. Otherwise I wish I had gone w...
Read moreDuring my recent visit to London, I had the incredible opportunity to join a guided bike tour led by Arno—one of the most engaging and knowledgeable guides I’ve ever met. The tour took us through the heart of the City of London, weaving through historic streets, grand landmarks, and lesser-known corners of the capital.
One of the highlights of the ride was cycling down The Mall towards Buckingham Palace. As we approached the palace, Arno shared fascinating stories about its transformation from a private townhouse into the official residence of the British monarch. He pointed out nearby buildings with rich royal and architectural significance, explaining how the area had been shaped over centuries by power, politics, and pageantry.
What truly made the tour stand out was Arno’s passion for history. He didn’t just recite facts—he painted vivid pictures of the past, bringing to life the characters and events that shaped the city. Whether it was the story behind Admiralty Arch or the symbolic layout of The Mall itself, every stop felt like stepping into a living history book.
Thanks to Arno, the tour was not just a scenic ride—it was an unforgettable journey through London’s royal and historic heart. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone wanting to see the city in a fresh, exciting, and...
Read moreA bike tour is the absolutely best way to see any city, and London is no exception! The best way to see London by bike is to do it on a bike tour with London bicycle tour company!
I ended up doing 2 tours: the Christmas lights tour and the Classic tour! Both great for different reasons. The Classic tour gives you an excellent overview of the city centre and the main sights and the Christmas lights tour is awesome for photoshooting sessions.
Jordi was our tour leader for the Christmas lights tour and he is very knowledgeable about the city and everything! He also speaks many languages, which is nice!
Nadja led the Classic tour and is brilliant, fun and great to be around! She kept a great balance between history, personal stories and jokes about the sights that we visited making the tour pleasant for everyone in the group!
The pace of both tours was ideal: not too fast, not too slow, making it comfortable and safe for all! London is quite bike friendly as well, so you won't feel much of the traffic of the city.
The bikes they have are strong, reliable and were in great condition! They also have enough gears to cope with the minimum inclines of London.
To conclude, if you are thinking about it, just do it and you won't regret it! Thank you London bicycle...
