I was exploring Lambeth North to write a list of ten things to do in the area when I came across the Tibetan Peace Garden. What a lovely, tranquil and peaceful place located in the busy Lambeth area in the grounds near the Imperial War Museum. Make sure you visit next time you are in the area.

The Tibetan Peace garden was opened in May 1999 by His Holiness the Dalai Lama. It is next to the Imperial War Museum. In the centre is the Kalachakra Mandala bronze associated with world peace. The garden is a peaceful oasis of calm to reflect and meditate. A very peaceful place.

Si tratta di un importante progetto di scultura in una prestigiosa location all'esterno dell'Imperial War Museum nel centro di Londra ed è stato inaugurato da S.S. il Dalai Lama il 13 maggio 1999. Commissionato dalla Tibet Foundation con sede a Londra, il brief era di progettare un monumento che simboleggiasse l'incontro tra Oriente e Occidente, riunendo immagini occidentali contemporanee e tradizionali tibetane. Il design circolare, basato su un'immagine buddista fondamentale, la Ruota del Dharma, è stato concepito come una struttura in cui queste due immagini diverse potessero coesistere in armonia visiva.

With a gateway and and 3 stoned blocks that represent the elements earth air fire and water there is also a beautiful altar in the centre........ This is a beautiful and peaceful place especially if you want to have a quiet relaxing moment to be by yourself. It certainly really lives up to its name. I think l would call it My Tibetan Peaceful Heavenly Garden which is my favourite place. in South London The only thing missing is the Tibetan...
