When the restaurant manager came to deliver our order, I was happy to see him. As he handed it over, I immediately noticed that one of the items was wrong. I pointed it out, he checked the order details and apologised. He said he would go back and return with the correct dish but given this would mean 2.5 miles there, and 2.5 back I thought better of it. He again apologised and said he would go back and immediately arrange a refund. This never happened. When I chased, he then stated that because I ordered from the Just Eats app, I would need to ask them for my refund. I did... Just Eats asked me for photographic evidence (of the returned item). I intimated that this was not possible as the restaurant manager took it back with him. Just Eats declined to entertain my request any further and refused to issue a refund (but thanked me for understanding). I tried to get my point across several times: THE ITEM WENT BACK TO THE RESTAURANT! But first Bradley, then Joshua and finally Mohamed all copied and pasted the policy of not refunding if no photographic evidence. Feeling like Just Eats were completely neglecting me as a customer and ironically, not understanding me, I went back to Searock. It took three calls to get the manager to call me and this only happened after I threatened to go there and cause a scene if he didn't call me. He finally did and after lots of explaining about how much commission they lose to the likes of Just Eat and how the cost of living has forced them to serve their dishes in one-inch deep trays (but charge significantly more for them). He also said that the £7.50 delivery charge was Just Eats and not them! The only solution he could offer me was to give me a free dish on my next order. In effect, I would have to spend with them again to get what I had paid for previously. On principle, I will not spend a single penny with Searock again. There is no value for money and no customer focus. As for Just Eats, I've shut my account down with them too. The customer is always right, but not when Just Eats and Searock are looking after their own interests,...
Read moreSea Rock? More like Sea ROT. Absolutely disgraceful food and customer service. This restaurant should be shut down with the quality they’re serving. Avoid at all costs – I’d love to know what their actual food hygiene rating is, because what I experienced was absolute rubbish.
I ordered: • Desi Lamb – arrived dripping in oil, which leaked all over the bag and contaminated the vegetarian dishes. The amount of oil could run half an engine. Food tasted stale, not fresh at all. I’ve had this dish before from them – sometimes edible, sometimes terrible – this time it was by far the worst. • Saag Paneer with Peas – their own Uber Eats menu offers this option, but instead they sent Mutter Paneer. When I called, the woman on the phone was rude and aggressive, insisting that “only mutter paneer is with peas.” Then why list Saag Paneer with peas on your menu? Dish was tasteless anyway. • Tandoori Chicken Legs – foul smell, clearly not fresh, and absolutely not cooked to order. This chicken was either reheated or cooked the previous day. Completely disgusting. • Naan & Roti – both rock-hard and chewy, no difference between the two. Almost inedible.
Overall: oily, stale, reheated, tasteless food with rude staff. A total waste of money and a genuine health concern. Do not order...
Read moreOne of the best and most original Indian restaurants around Absolutely brilliant and original dishes - on two consecutive nights (yes, it is that good), everything we tried was superb. Check starters like the fish fry or the cassava - divine. And the lamb was great, the nans perfect, and the fish curry amazing. And lovely to have lots of variations on tilapia fish on the menu - maybe the most 'eco' fish one can eat (a freshwater vegetarian fish that thrives in aquaculture set-ups in Asia and Africa). But, yes, it IS a sports bar too, so prepare for a less intimate, bright setting currently with lots of TVs showing sport (but without sound when we visited - possibly different of a weekend evening or on sporting occasions (especially this featuring an Indian team!). And reasonably priced - £42 for two without service - tho we shared the generous starters and only had one beer.
Thank you owner Nirojh, and wonderful waiting-on...
