This was our first time using Sailchecker and we are so glad we found them. We had been trying to do our own research on bare boat charter. Having previously chartered in Greece and Croatia, we were exploring options in Italy to try something new. It proved very difficult to get information via web searches so we decided to ask Sailchecker (who popped up during our web searching). Within days we had a destination (Aeolian islands sailing out of Capo D'Orlando in Sicily) and a boat which matched our criteria for our family of four. The price was at least as good as we could have obtained by going directly to the operator.
Regular communications from Sailchecker meant that everything from booking the charter to physically finding the operator in Sicily was a breeze. We never met or spoke to anyone at Sailchecker - everything was done via email or online form - so we were initially a little apprehensive about handing over significant amounts of cash, but there was no need for concern as it turned out.
We would highly recommend Sailchecker to anyone, and would definitely use them again ourselves. It is worth remembering that they are a travel agent, not a charter operator. What you get from them is access to their extensive knowledge of, and contacts within, the boat chartering industry worldwide, invaluable advice, and the smooth handling of all the contract and booking arrangements with the actual charter operator, which can often be complex - especially if the operator is not fluent in your own language.
Thank you Sailchecker. If only all companies...
Read moreI have recently returned from a Sailchecker holiday around the Saronic sea in Greece. Before I left I had no idea what to expect, having only been on a boat once or twice before. Although we went in October when it is cooling down the weather was still beautiful most days. There were was an exception; an evening where we docked in a bay and watched a stunning storm outside with thunder and lightning only to wake up to sunshine. Each day we docked in a new and exciting port or bay, chosen by the crew from their expansive knowledge, we visited Poros, Aegina, Hydra (the new Mykonos by all accounts) and a stunning bay in Dokos. All of the places were beautiful in and of themselves, and getting there by sea to stunning vistas made it even better. We had many swimming sessions some in the rain, watched sunsets at cliff top bars and beaches and generally enjoyed the beautiful Greek coastlines.
There was the option to get involved with sailing and docking of the boat, which was a lot of fun, there were several experienced members of the crew who were familiar with sailing and happy to share their knowledge and answer my constant questions...
Read moreI just used Sailchecker to book a week long crewed catamaran in the South of France and had a wonderful experience. I spoke to many brokers prior, and their team was by far the most helpful. Right from the start they helped select the boat that would be best for my group and their pricing is incredible. They were responsive, helpful and always willing to hop on the phone. They thoroughly answered all my questions throughout the planning process as well as made sure to check in with me too. It was great to have an added layer of security with their team facilitating communications with the boat agency especially since this trip was out of my country. Would recommend their team to anyone and will...
