Aske Gardens — Attraction in London

A lovely little park space in the middle of bustling Hackney. Tennis courts, basketball (2 nets), and a nice grass area surrounded by big benches. Tree cover from the sun/rain is available if patchy. Sat waiting for my Mother to finish her appointment at Moorfields Eye Clinic (7 mins walk), watched the lads play a little basket, and otherwise watched the world go peacefully by. At one corner there is a small grocery store, and further round the corner, a decent looking chippy / sandwich bistro (interesting fusion, I didn't try so check for others that may have reviewed); next door to a nice pub with ample outdoor seating for when the weather permits (just a pint of cola for the driver, but a fair selection appeared available). Pleasant and relaxing open space, lots of greenery and nice to chill out with family/friends. A great lunch time location, on the city's doorstep and close to shops/restaurants/pubs.
