The station is in zone 1/2 which means some people commute in to here from Surrey to save on costs, as it means they can bypass paying zone 1 fares by arriving by train and then taking a bus. As a result the capacity is too small to cope with the number of people using it on weekdays. If it's the morning commute, 7:30am-9:30am it'll be very busy, with people charging out of the station. If you're trying to get in, you'll be fighting against the tide when you try to walk upstairs onto platforms 3-4, 5-6 or 7-8. The design of the station is poor as the original entrance/exit is narrow, so be careful when entering/exiting as someone may charge into you at busy times and then tut in your face. As the ticket gates are so near the entrance, you also get people who stop suddenly in front of a gate to stare at the departure boards, so keep your distance and allow extra time when using this station. When you reach the top of the stairs to the platform, some people will stop at the top step to stare at the departure board, so be aware that some people here have no self awareness! Others don't realise there are lifts to every platform and they choose to carry suitcases, bikes and prams up the 50 steps. Please use the lift for safety so you don't have to put your back out. When exiting the station from platforms 7-8, there are now three sets of steps which has eased some of...
Read moreOne stop down from Waterloo terminus, it's also a convenient connection to the Underground with Vauxhall tube station (Victoria line) just over the road.
There are frequent SWR services from here to many destinations going out of London. Most trains call here, but some express trains do pass through.
The main route from the platforms is via long staircases, however there are also small lifts available, for wheelchairs, buggies, luggage etc. The entrance/exit is also step free and Vauxhall tube station also has step free access.
In peak hours it does get very crowded and passenger flows can be quite slow.
I did notice that when using the right hand entrance coming from the tube, the train information boards weren't very detailed. To find train information for Kew Bridge, I had to see the screens in the left hand side entrance hall.
Apart from that, signage was pretty good. There were staff available in the cross passage and gate lines.
There's a few food outlets in the cross passage too.
Outside is a busy bus service located between the two stations for quite a few routes.
Although busy, combined with step free access and the good transport links, this is...

As one of the two elder women at Vauxhall Overground Station - who gave the two colleagues "extra duties"
l would like to take this opportunity to commend the enforcement staff and barrier personnel at Vauxhall Overground Station (Sainsbury’s entrance)
Particularly notable were the tall, black slightly grey-haired enforcement officer and the younger black man stood behind the barrier, both of whom demonstrated exceptional professionalism and kindness.
Despite a potentially challenging interaction, they remained patient, (especially you "Mr Enforcement") helpful, and courteous throughout.
Their dedication to providing excellent service and going above and beyond their duties is truly appreciated.
Thank you for both for your KINDNESS and absolute commitment to...
