Set in the surrounds of lovely Wapping, this is one of the more intimate markets. Unfortunately the experience was soured by the overpricing of almost every aspect of the market (and it seems London life these days).
Food from the Argentinian stall was slightly pricey but fairly decent. It got worse: £7.99 for a mulled cider (a small plastic cup) from the drinks stall - outrageous!
There was a band playing, and during their break went around asking for donations (when was this a thing at markets?). I didn't mind giving a bit, even though I had only been there for 30min - the automatic card scanner was set at £5. The lady had the cheek to say you can get cashback for donating more. (Name on card payment - Rhythm & Str.) I almost didn't swipe my card.

Read moreWhat a great little market! Just local to us and with so much to offer! We had an Afghan chicken and rice dish at a stall, it was so tasty and with a generous portion. We also bought some pumpkin and egg raviolis and some beetroot and root vegetables raviolis. We ate the pumpkin ones for dinner and they were so nice! Perfect with a little garlic bread. We also returned later in the afternoon to buy some cakes including a strawberry mousse éclair, a walnut tart and a lemon curd tart, all of which were really lovely and flavoursome. I wish I took some pictures!
It was such a friendly little market with seating space in the middle. We will definitely return as I want to try some of their doughnuts and also the dim sums stall!...
Read morePlenty of streetfood choices and drinks, with seating and good live music The actual retail market section is small and doesn't have much variety any more -a few bread / cake stalls, Hussey's Butchers (be prepared for the smell of their meaty BBQ smoke next to a vegan stall and a greengrocer, unfortunately ) and a nice jewellery stall, as well as the Chegworth Valley farm-shop fruit & veg, the plant stall (indoor & outdoor plants plus lots of free advice!) and a local artist's stall with excellent paintings, prints and cards of local riverside and architectural scenery.
