Probably the worst hotel ever and the manager is a waste of space we would have been better off sleeping in the car
Hopefully this saves someone eles from this horror of a hotel
The heating in our room went off in the middle of the night,I was told by the manager it was my fault as I didn't go down to let them know at 3am !! Even though I called the phone and it went to answer machine. Then we had no hot water so could not shower reported this and was told the boiler had gone off and it would take 3 minutes to heat up 3 hours later and still no hot water Went to have breakfast no hot water for tea or coffee lack of hot breakfast options Other guested came in and was told quite rudely, you have 10 minutes to eat and you can only have what is there 2 dried up sausages crusty egg and cold bake beans, the toaster took 10 minutes to warm the bread not even toast it I had messaged the hotel prior to staying and informed them that 2 of our guests on our booking was vegan and he had reassured me that the breakfast was a continental breakfast buffet and there would be vegan options provided There was bread jam and juice the manager said I should have listed all the vegan food and drink required as he didn't know they couldn't have cows milk and should have requested oat or soya milk His response was bread and juice was acceptable options Was told by the same lady that come to tell us the hot water would be 3 minutes to inform the manager when checking out of the issues we had Told the manger and his response was had completed our booking as we told him when we was leaving and shouldn't have stayed if it was that bad !! We explained that the lady told us to speak to him when checking out The condition of the room was shocking to say the least The manager said that he was not giving us any refund or compensation and was shocked that we said that was bad customer service The manager was rude and uninterested in anything we had to say. We said that he hadn't even apologised for any...
Read moreSummary: Great price, good breakfast, not a great area. There is room for improvement (pun intended), please see notes below.
Price: A hundred and sixty odd quid for two nights for a double bed in a hotel that close to the city centre is a great price. Breakfast included too. Win
Location: Not looking great. It's a small hotel in a residential area. High residential buildings all around. It's a bit of a rough area around there. I walked from the Shadwell station to the hotel at night and I'd advise anyone doing the same to be on alert.
Staff: Didn't interact much with the staff, but they were kind, polite and helpful.
Amenities: The hotel is quite small. And it was busier than I expected, judging by the number of people who had breakfast. The stairs are narrow and there is no lift (or at least I didn't see one).
We stayed in a room on the second floor and when I got there it was boiling because of the radiator being on. I had to turn off the heating and turn the fan on.
The room was simple and small (low ceiling at one corner) but clean and well presented. The bed was not as good/supportive as I'd like it to be. Tea was available in the room. I didn't use the (empty) small fridge under the desk.
The shower door was off its rails, but with some care I could close it properly at least. Unfortunately, all four sets of towels that we used were smelly, as in not allowed to dry properly. Also, the shower head was moldy.
The breakfast was great. Scrambled eggs, sausages, beans, toastie bread white and brown, croissants, Nutella, butter, honey, milk, tea, coffee, cereal, cookies, mini muffins, fruit, pretty much all one could want. I tried toasting a waffle but it came out soggy so I think it was not fresh. But the rest of my breakfast was great, I had English breakfast, croissant with nutella, muffins...
Read moreSuch an awful service! During my recent stay at a hotel with family, I encountered several issues that left me dissatisfied with their services. Firstly, the hotel did not clean our room on a daily basis, as it was supposed to be included in the price. This lack of regular cleaning was disappointing! Additionally, I expected to have access to fresh towels and complimentary facilities such as soap and shampoo, which were also included in the price but were often missing or inadequate.
When we were out and returned to the hotel after leaving our room keys for cleaning, we found nothing had changed. When I raised this concern with the hotel staff, their response was perplexing. They claimed that we hadn't instructed them explicitly to clean the room, despite there being a confirmation note in their hotel outlining the process with no mention of requesting cleaning, only leaving the keys.
Furthermore, the hotel imposed strict control over the breakfast service, which was also included in the price. In my previous experiences with various hotels, both cheaper and more expensive, if I couldn't partake in breakfast due to an early departure, they would always offer an alternative solution. However, this particular hotel seemed unwilling to accommodate our needs. When I requested four pieces of bread and butter, the staff looked at me as if I were attempting to take advantage of them, providing no suitable alternatives.
Overall, the hotel's failure to address basic cleaning standards, provide necessary amenities, understand guest requirements, and display flexibility regarding breakfast left me greatly disappointed. These experiences emphasize the significance of clear communication, attentiveness to guest needs, and maintaining high-quality services to ensure a satisfactory stay for...
