Friars Fish & Chips — Local services in Milton Keynes

Very good fish and chips. It appears to be cooked fresh to order which means a little bit of waiting time, but excellent fish.

Like many fish and chips shops they were a bit tight on the vinager even though I asked for loads - not a major problem if taking home, but a little disappointing if eating outside walking home etc.

The only reason it's 4 star and not 5 star is that's its a little bit too expensive for in my opinion for the Wolverton area. Although I'd still come back for more. Just perhaps not that often as I cannot justify the...

Just been to the shop the 26th of October 2025 not very happy at all to see one of the staff heating my sausage up in the microwave in the back only to then carry it to the warming cabinet with his bare hands. I would’ve thought that a basic process would to be to use some kind of tongs or tweezers or even put it in a tray without grabbing it in his hands and throwing it into the warming cabinet been there a few times over the years but after seeing that tonight I will not ever return. First time using this shop and most things were good, the chips were bitty, like the leftovers in the pack but still nice, fish was good and the saveloys the same. But... what was going on with the curry sauce, was so bad that I spat it out, complaints from all the family, not sure if they make it themselves but it tasted of pure cornflour, absolutely disgusting.
