My first visit here, very clean and varied menu. I ordered the scampi, the young girl looked like she was just learning but nobody was supporting her. The gentleman seemed distracted by a customer who wanted to leave a review and was taking photos of everything and getting in the way! eventually another lady joined her to help and was very professional. She sorted our orders and kept her right. the food took a little too long because of all this. This was SO good and welcome. Ahead of a weekend of singing - what was needed was a fish and chip supper. Opted for a mini fish and chips - and the portion size was that - just enough and left you wanting more - which is just how it should be! Service was excellent, friendly and authentic. It was consistently so with the few but wide variety of customers that came in. Whilst you might not come in for the 'atmosphere' - such what it was warm, spotless and comfortable. I was really disappointed after reading all of the great reviews. I decided to travel a little further than I usually do to give this one a try. I ordered fish and chips, kebab and chips and a curry sauce for myself and partner. The fish was totally soggy and we had to scrape the soggy batter off and the fish surprisingly had no taste at all. The kebab meat was all ripped into tiny shreds and did not taste pleasant. The curry sauce was very strong and unlike most traditional chip shop curry it tasted more like an Indian curry.
