Previous review "Just the perfect pizza! So nice to have authentic and tasty pizza made almost on our doorstep. This place is a true hidden gem, and I sincerely hope that Lisa and Robbie continue to make great good at a great price for a long time to come! My tip is to try a mini calzone (£1.80 I think). A lovely appetiser!"
Updated review Well I knew it was too good to last. P.I. closed for refurbishment and has returned with seemingly new owners...no Lisa and Roberto!! And with their departure goes the quality of the delicious pizzas!
We dropped into Pizzeria Italia having not visited in a couple of months and ordered a ham and mushroom pizza and a margherita. Although it was nice to have plated food, and the lady who served us was very pleasant indeed, the pizzas were just not up to scratch at all. At first I just thought "the base is dry and tasteless" but then I realised that the reason for this was actually the complete lack of topping on the base. Where once the pizzas would be slathered with juicy sweet but sharp tomato sauce and gorgeously juicy mixed mushrooms, all I got was a microns-thin layer of tomato and one single sliced champignon mushroom (2 at the most). The cheese was so thin that it was bubbled and the base was visible within the bubbles. The margherita was just the same only plain. No oregano either. Very, very sad...lack of skill in pizza making is definitely forgivable as long as the skill improves, but slashing costs while maintaining pricing is not.
Lisa and Roberto, we do sincerely miss you, and your pizzas of course, but we hope you're happy if it's a change you needed. At least now I hope you can enjoy life a...

From the moment I walked in, I could tell this place takes real pride in what they do. The shop was spotless — clean, tidy, and welcoming, with that lovely aroma of fresh pizza dough baking in the oven.
Now, let’s talk about the pizza — wow. It was everything you’d hope for and more: perfectly crunchy on the outside, soft in the middle, and bursting with flavour in every bite. You can taste the freshness of the ingredients — the rich tomato sauce, the gooey cheese, and that perfect balance of seasoning that just makes you want another slice straight away.
The customer service was just as impressive. The staff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to care that we were happy with our order. It’s rare to see that level of warmth and professionalism these days, and it really made the whole experience stand out.
Overall, an absolutely amazing visit. Delicious food, fantastic service, and a spotless shop — everything you could ask for in a great pizza place. I’ll definitely be coming back again and recommending it to...
Read moreI’ve eaten a lot of pizza in my life (friends don’t call me “Greasy Liam” for nothing) and I’ve gotta say, the cylindrical food discs they’re making over at Pizzeria Italia are something else entirely. These pizzas aren’t just reasonably priced, they’re so delicious they’ll make your eyes water. Don’t buy a Dominoes. Just, stop. Be kinder to yourself. You deserve one of these instead. Also the staff are really lovely even on super busy evenings. Honestly, there’s some nights I’ve popped in without pre-ordering and there’s 15 people in the queue and they’ll still be friendly when I get to the front. If I was them I’d be throwing bags of flower around and punching the dough, but no. They’re all grand. Anyway yeah I like it here you should try it out. Sorry the picture is naff, I was drooling loads when I took it and I couldn’t get a decent angle because I was making my...
