Fantastic restaurant.
It was a last minute booking and spontaneous decision to try it. Usually it is fully booked but we were lucky when we found a free slot probably someone cancelled. I want to take you to a step by step experience because this place is one of the best in the north east.
First at the entrance we were greeted with a lovely smile we were taken to our seats. How they know they are good let me tell you how, first they will ask you if you are comfortable on these seats, second they will ask if there is anything you want to know before you look at the menu.
Second they gave us up to 5 minutes and the good thing they didn't bother us coming asking are you ready are you ready. The waiter was close to show the he is there and not too close to make you feel pressured to make your decision. As soon as I made up my mind I just looked and quickly came over to take orders.
Now let me tell you how you know you made the right decision by coming to this place. Since the moment I gave my order I started my stop watch and counted. starter shouldn't take more than 15mins , my starter came after 14mins perfect timing. Now I have to keep an eye on how long will take to have our main meals. Usually it has to be between 20-30minutes after your starter. Why 20-30 this is enough time to eat starter and relax and have sip of wine or soft drink, let food digest a bit don't load yourself up. Anyway the food came 31mins after started so again perfect timing.
So not to take long after our meal I ordered dessert that the chef comes around and service it in a nice show.
Long story short, food was delicious, the restaurant was elegant and they were very good with timing. And mostly staff were very friendly nice, helpful and very very polite. They made me feel very comfortable and welcomed.

Read moreWe came here to celebrate my husband’s birthday. The staff were really nice and friendly and the interior and ambience of the restaurant was just lovely, really makes the expensive food worthy of dishing out on because quantities are quite small although just filling.
I had the best falafel with hummus in my life here and I lived in the middle east for 11 years. We had the Kuzu dolma which was quite a unique dish, unlike something ive ever had before, and i really enjoyed the chewy texture of the lamb with the tasty soft fillings although the sauce and puree was not as tasty. Its something worth trying atleast once though. We also had the mix grill, which is normally supposed to be for sharing, but it had only one piece of lamb chop! Really disappointing cuz it was absolutely yummy. The only thing I didnt like in the mix grill was the adana kebab, which seemed like it just didn't have any salt. The chicken and lamb sislik were equally as fantastic as the lamb chops. However, the quantity of rice with it was also tiny even for one person.
Another little complaint that I had was that they were taking reservations until 8.45 even though the seating/kitchen closes at 9 on the weekends, which we were unaware of and we made a reservation for 8.30. Due to this, we were unable to order their Knefeh and chocolate soufflé for desserts as it was just not available, which I quite regret, as we would have loved to taste good, authentic Knefeh. We ended up forgoing dessert.
Nevertheless, our visit ended on a sweet note with the owner of the restaurant bidding us goodbye at the door and handing out roses to all the departing ladies. Overall, a beautiful restaurant definitely...
Read moreI had ordered a side dish of falafel which came with a salad, a chili sauce and some hand cut chips. The reason I ordered this is there was very little vegan or vegetarian on the menu and I was vegan. My wife and I (who had been vegetarian since she was under five) had promised to take my son and his girlfriend out for a meal and they chose this place as meat eaters. My food came as a side dish and they did not think to give me a plate as I was eating with the rest of the people. I then had to remind them that I had ordered hand cut chips. Whilst I waited for these my food was getting cold. The others had already started theirs as they didn't want theirs to go cold. My chips eventually came and they were French fries. My son reminded them that I had ordered hand cut chips and they took them away. My food was getting colder. A couple of minutes later the hand cut chips arrived. The falafel was extremely dry and crunchy by then and not how it is supposed to be. They had overcooked it in the first place or as a consequence of waiting for so long it had dried out. The rest of it was good, especially the salad. The other people enjoyed their meal but I can only speak from my experience. When they were clearing the meal away the people dropped a knife on my son's girlfriend. It could have been a lot worse than it was. They apologised. The whole experience came to little under a hundred pounds, for which I paid. To add insult to injury my wife gave them a tip of ten pounds. As a vegan, I would have been much better off elsewhere. I learnt from my lesson. At least the others enjoyed...
