By far the WORST takeaway I have had, ever! Tempted away from usual 'go to' as they do thai as well as indian so suited me AND the wife! Started badly with delivery fee AND a service charge added on (what service, it was a take away?) Meal then over an hour and a half past the time advised. Tried to contact but the "call restaurant" feature in Just Eat had an unknown number. Contacted via Just Eat and recieved a message back asking if I wanted some money off! When the food arrived it was awful, I mean REALLY bad! Lamb Dhansak chewy, tough lamb in a thin sauce, not the usual thick, lentil heavy dish i know and love. Thai chicken noodles were truly inedible, very overcooked and soggy, they fell out of the container like a sand castle in one solid mound. Plenty of chicken but again overcooked and dry. Sauce tasted like bisto & chilli powder! Straight in the bin. Okra again very overcooked and soggy like school dinner cabbage with little or no spicing or flavour. Sag Aloo mediochre with little spicing or flavour. Thai red prawn curry again watery with chewy prawns and phall level spice!! Pilau rice OK. Poppadoms OK.. What made it worse is i am a professional Chef of 45 yrs high level experience and although now retired I'd volunteered to cook for my local rugby club that day and was really busy. So as a treat for my wife for helping me I thought I'd treat her! This was awful and as a chef I know we all have off days and will normally give a second chance but I wouldn't go anywhere near this place again!!!! If I could give this place a zero, I would! Have ordered from them before and never had any issues, until now. £8.99 for a chicken tikka masala that arrived with only 6 small pieces of chicken. When I called the restaurant, I was passed to someone who I assume was the chef because he said he cooked it himself. Although I was offered the full meal to be cooked and delivered again, he requested that I send the original order back with the driver once delivered (my partner had already eaten his). He was very rude and shouting over the top me, accusing me of being a liar. The chef/owner clearly doesn't like to have his ability critiqued. Very unprofessional, will not be buying from there again. The just eat review was giving you the benefit of the doubt considering how rude you were by talking over the top of me and not allowing me to speak. You wanted the original meal that had already been delivered back. Which you knew what would have been impossible as I had told you before you offered the full meal that my partner had already eat eaten his half. Before that, you only offered to replace the tikka itself. I asked for a partial refund for the tikka, not all of it. You say that a meal for two is enough for 3, yet you say what I ordered wouldn't have done for 2 people, bearing in mind, neither my partner or myself are big eaters and only ordered because we had already eaten something small a couple hours before and we're still slightly hungry. Unfortunately I’ve found myself having to find a new takeaway. I leave 4 stars as the food has been great but when I was told that my order was £44 and the 10% discount was not being honoured because I was paying by card when the menu says discount for collection only to which I was, I was disappointed. This has always been honoured before even in the last could of months. I fully understand costs are rising but they are for us all. As a returning customer I would have thought this would have been something honoured with no issues. I’m sorry but I had to say to the Lady at the counter that it was just pushing a bit too much for me and the what was written on the menu was not honoured. Therefore I cancelled and went elsewhere. The cost was not a huge amount less but it covered the 10%. It’s more out of frustration that I write this as I would have rather kept to you guys. Great food, great service in the past but unfortunately this got to me a bit out of principle. Some may agree and some may not.
