I've been a YouTube subscriber of Heyman's since he had under 1k subs. I like him as a person, I have had success visiting other restaurants on the back of his reviews - however unfortunately we didn't have much success with his own restaurant today.
No complaints with the service, nor the size of the place. Size wise, it is more of a grab & go type place which is obvious from the outside so whilst it would obviously be nice to have a larger restaurant with more seating, it is what it is & if you want fine dining it's obvious you should go elsewhere. There's enough seating for about 8 people & we even fit our baby & his pram. No complaints there & I'd love for this project to succeed in order to allow expansion in the future.
We paid £32.45 for 5 burgers, 3 portions of fries, 1 piece of chicken & 2 drinks which is very reasonable.
The Heymac burger (big mac clone) was pretty accurate taste wise, but the size seemed smaller than what people usually get from McDonald's. It cost £3.99 but I think I'd have been prepared to pay more for a 'better' version of a big mac with higher quality ingredients that a food reviewer would be able to put together (or perhaps not all good food critics make good chefs?). Would be good if you cloned the McDonald's chicken big mac that you get in the gulf countries & added that to the menu.
The fries were very close to what you get from McDonald's. Needed more salt to be a closer clone. Fries were the best thing on the menu when dipped in the garlic parmesan sauce.
The Fish-fill hey was an insult to the original fish fillet at £4.49. It was all soggy, the fish had a rancid taste, the buns were wet & the sauce just wasn't accurate at all, it was just mayo. I clone the fish fillet at home with better quality fish burgers from Aldi & make my own tartare sauce that matches the original which is very simple & I'm not a chef lol. Very disappointed.
The Buttermilk burgers were rather tasteless. Not convinced that the chicken was fresh & they were extremely flat. Is the plan to genuinely compete here with the likes of Kings Castle, Smashed Out or other similar food places in the North West? Did we get a bad batch?
Finally the Nashville burger & the random piece of chicken that came with the meal, was definitely not fresh. The burger was the same type of fried chicken as the buttermilk burger but had Nashville spices on it. You can tell it wasn't fresh because the batter was soggy rather than crunchy. I've had Dave's Nashville in the US & this would give them a heart attack. Anemic chicken, dry & tasteless. The coleslaw portion was also tiny & your typical cheap takeaway coleslaw.
Would I visit again? Probably not any time soon considering all the other amazing competitors that Ali has reviewed & made me aware of elsewhere.
If you read this Ali, my advice is, if you're going to let them put your name/brand on the poor food being served up - make the menu smaller, use your expertise & experience reviewing other joints to create a much more unique & complex offering that will blow people's taste buds even if it means charging more & enforce standards across branches. We want high quality & unique food inspired by a famous food reviewer. Not a jack of all trades master of none. This is what will build you a business with repeat customers in a competitive market & allow you to go back to making YouTube videos rather than constantly posting Heyman Arcade food deals in a plea to get people through the door...
The other positive was that Qur'an was on in the store which was a much appreciated choice over music.
Apologies if the review is harsh, just my two cents, best of luck with the franchising. Will visit again in 12 months to see if things...

Deco was new and so fresh the paint was still sticky on the walls... Which I had to lean on to make space for other customers coming to order..
There is dine in tables for a few people but this was counter productive as its very limited and restricts space for people queueing or waiting for food... esp with the big bin in the way... People were having to literally brush past us with their food..
They had a special limited offer menu board outside. I saw the price for their spicy dipped burger and based on experience took this as the meal price...
But the meal costs about £8. If that's a special offer how much would normal price be?
I think £8 for a spicy dipped burger, esp for a new joint, is quite high. Esp as you can buy better burger meals for around £5 nearby and at more well known takeaways like Phillys and Orlandos.
Ordered the spicy dipped burger and cheese burger. Paid using card but was a bit weird with the staff having to flip her till round for you to swipe the card... Staff seemed nervous and unfamilair with menu. I greeted her but wasn't greeted back either... no service with a smile here..
Burgers came wrapped in foil and plain brown bag... which seems a bit unconventional for a joint playing off a social media brand hype. But I have no issue with this too much as it saves on waste too and its just a burger... but the lack of packaging doesn't seem to reflect on pricing.. Also eating a dipped burger out of a piece of foil outside was a bit awkward due to the drip and fallouts from the burger...
The spicy dipped burger was not that spicy at all... It had gherkins, mayo and lettuce which made it more milder. I was expecting a bit more of a kick / spice without it being ott. In terms of size the fillet was chunky and big, batter wasn't that crispy but good enough. The chicken seemed to be cooked well and breading seemed standard. I could try this again if passing by. Still overpriced though...
The cheeseburger on the other hand reminded me of those small cheap 99p burgers you sometimes find at small chip shops. It had gherkins yes but the thin patty and standard breading doesn't make up for the price. Taste wise yeah not too bad.
I found the menu was designed well with good easy to understand layout, with item photos and a fair bit of choice.
There are better burger joints in the area... but this isn't too bad for a...
Read moreThe overall service was quite good as It was my first time trying this place, the guy at the counter recommended some things such as the chicken tenders and said the Nashville option is quite good following along with this recommendation the food came in about 10 minutes overall quite good, but the quality of the food and price that I paid was ridiculous £8.50 for 3 tenders, chips and a drink, the portion size with the chips was definitely less than an a handful and the tenders was so bad I didn’t even bother to finish the food as they were covered with spices coating and then layered with a salt mix that made the chicken so dry it felt like it was eating a handful of salt every time I took a bite to top it off the batter was falling off so much to the point where your eating chicken with no batter I can’t comprehend how much I didn’t enjoy that meal and don’t recommend it to anybody wanting...
