Making only my second visit to Preston town centre. Came for a footie game at Deepdale many years ago. Popped into this CAMRA 2024 entry pub close to the railway station. So close that they have a departure board for said station. Very good value food. Visited with Madge and Jorvic. Proper and large pub with covered outdoor area to the rear. Jorvic had a pint of Stanley's 3.8% pale from Kirkby Lonsdale brewery. One of five available on handpump. Very good. Lots of TV'S. A little bit shabby in places but Madge likes it. Might be back for breakfast tomorrow!

Absolute pants, relying on being the 1st pub out of the train station 😩 4 Guinness's in a row were pulled in one pour instead of letting it settle, when I had the audacity to ask for my 5th pint to be poured correctly, I got a mouthful of abuse from a gobby manageress who said I should of known it was a 'barmans' 1st day ....... Unfortunately I gave up on my mind reading classes after week 3, maybe try investing a bit more time on staff training instead of employing a mouthy gob shite manageress. See you next season ......... NOT #QPR

Read some of the more negative reviews on here so I initially visited with a bit of an open mind! Now? I’m a regular when waiting for trains at Preston!!!! It is a bustling traditional “city pub” pub with an excellent selection of guest cask ales as well as more staple beers (+ other drinks of course) available. The bar staff are a great team who cheerfully fly round to ensure all customers are served promptly which, given the bar is on 3 sides, is no mean feat at times. It serves a very busy “city pub” market and is always full but never feels overcrowded. But, like many city pubs, it is just that – and it does an excellent job too! You will note I have used the term “city pub” several times – because that is what it sets out to be and does it extremely well – in fact, with the guest beers, far better than most. Looking at some of the negative reviews here, it says way more about the “reviewers” than the pub itself to be honest! Would I take my kids there? No … but then I’d not take my car to the Vets to be serviced either!!! It’s “horses for courses” – and what it sets out to do it does...

Called in here last night with a group of friends. I am 66 and my other friends are 40/50+, apart from one 18 year old, the son of one of out party. 3 of our party were female. We were made to feel uneasy from the outset, the two door men constantly staring at us? After 30 mins. the young lad was unable to be served. One of the doormen accused him of being on drugs. This young person suffers from mental health issues and takes medication for this. He is an extremely likable and mannerly lad. The doormen then, for some unknown reason 'pounced ' on us. Manhandled to lad outside. When I tried to calmly explain to the shorter of the doormen the situation with the lad I was thrown out with my arm held up my back. Really, was this necessary, bullying an OAP, females and a young lad for nothing. A female person in out group also had her face slapped. Totallly out of order from two bully boys. Disgraceful. But I suppose these days you can't really expect any respect for certain people in society. I hope you are proud...
